What if Rocky came back in 1959 as was considered?

    He trained for four months to fight Johannson before deciding against the comeback. Could the Rock have mounted a second career into the 60s, like Foreman did?

    I think Johannson stops him late, too much time off the ring and his first bout against a proper elite boxer in their prime.

    I don’t think it would have ended well for him. He had the type of style and body build that didn’t age well. That and he retired initially because he was having back problems. As mentioned he tried launching a comeback in ‘59 but abandoned the cause when he couldn’t get himself into ideal shape. For him to try this even LATER during the 60s as suggested in the OP would have been near impossible. By that point he would have been losing to dudes like Mike Dejohn or Roger Rischer.

    Rocky had had his time.
    Guy's like George Foreman only come around once in a blue moon,i see Marciano getting stopped.
