Yeah I think Ward sees Joshua as an easy fight. And honestly if this was the amateurs..... I would pick Ward over Joshua confidently. He sees Joshua as an easy fight and a fight that fans would all expect him to lose I don't think he doesn't realize that. But he also understands its his way of becoming immortalized.... he never got recognition during his career and he knows beating Joshua would be that kind of glamorous moment that people like to remember and grant him that legendary status that always eluded him. And honestly he probably does see something in Joshua that we can't. He's not a delusional kind of person theres definitely something there he sees as a glaring weakness that he can exploit.
I mean, it’s definitely not outta the realm of possibility now that Joshua is WELL past his prime. Lol And especially if ward decides to do the same… ‘Supplementation’ as he did for Sergey in their rematch Then anything is possible in this fight! And didn’t Usyk say he’d be happy to fight ward at Cruiser about six or so years ago after andre mentioned Oleksandr a couple times in interviews??? Then andre went quiet about moving up to heavyweight.
He’s been making this claim for 8 years, why hasn’t he acted on it? If he’s right then he could’ve earned unbelievable money.
Did he send an offer? I'm unaware of the negotiating side but I strongly doubt Hearn wanted Joshua in a lose/lose scenario against Andre Ward especially when AJ had superfights on the table. Idk maybe now is actually the best time to make this fight since AJ is in career limbo and probably should never fight a puncher ever again. Who should AJ fight Jake Paul? Yeah of course Ward vs Joshua is better than that obviously But ideally if Ward ever got the Golovkin or Canelo fights, which I believe he probably wins, then yeah an AJ fight could possibly be a fight people would actually really want a la Billy Conn vs Joe Louis I think Ward realizes that was the best realistic timeline for him and he's just playing the scenario in his head like we all do about our pasts "the one that got away" we all do it
