Most impressive: Spinks over 48-0 Holmes , Or Usyk over Undefeated Fury?

Right, but one could argue that Usyk's cruiserweight reign and WSB victories should also be considered when looking at his career from a historical heavyweight perspective.

Sure, I understand he is a smaller fighter, but his heavyweight resume, through no fault of his own, is relatively weak. That said, you can make these same points about most champions if we choose to pick holes...Lewis never beat tyson or Holyfield when they were at their best for instance.

....a quick thought. Is Fury's win over Wlad in Germany and AJs win over 41 year old Wlad, especially given its nature, a better win than any of Usyk's at heavyweight?

I am in a minority in that I think Usyk win over Fury fight 1, and more his win over Dubois fight 2 are incredibly impressive wins for any heavyweight. But History will show we use Fury and AJ as a barometer for Usyk's efficacy...hence, asterisk

    Spinks by a country mile.

T.Fury was coming off a knockdown and a 10 round split decision against UFC fighter who had never tried a boxing match before.

That's because Usyk had BEATEN Joshua TWICE.

He could barely even beat Carl Williams at that point.

I think Usyk's win is better because Fury had barely slipped whereas Holmes had been around forever and was pretty ripe for the taking. Spinks won more widely though.

And anyone who thinks that Fury took the Francis fight seriously s a clown.

I think at that point Fury was a much better fighter then Holmes, who had struggled in has last few fights and took on Spinks as a cherry pick as he had been doing for the last few defenses and then clearly lost to a LHW. So I'll say Usyk beat a much better fighter at that point so therefore making it a more impressive win.

I couldn't, still can't believe so many people, including respected experts, thought AJ would beat Usyk. I like AJ but for me he was made for a fighter with Usyk's attributes. The fact AJ did so well for a few rounds in fight two really surprised me, and I still maintain THAT AJ was the second best heavyweight on the planet that day and would not have been denied against anyone not called Usyk...

If he didn't take it seriously that's because Ngannou isn't an actual boxer.
He surely took it seriously when he was on his ass. But he still couldn't do much. You can't say Holmes slipped because he struggled with Witherspoon or Williams and then imply Fury v Ngannou should be ignored.

You can’t ignore that Williams and Witherspoon fought a lot like Spinks whereas Francis was huge and powerful but crude to the point of not flinching at a feint.

I can't see how you guys are coming to these conclusions. Fury was suspected of being diminished since he blew up to 360 pounds or more and was using cocaine 2016 to 2017.
He came back well but peaked in early 2020. He looked clearly on the downside again when he struggled with Wilder in October 2021.
His only credible win since then a ko of Whyte who was probably 3 years past his own best himself.

Fury was never on Holmes level too, of course

Wow. Really? I don't often get them right, but I picked Usyk and Dubois to beat AJ, but then I also picked Joyce to beat Zhang, twice, Fury to beat Usyk, erm, twice, and I thought Dubois would beat Usyk the second time. I'm happy to admit when I got things wrong man, but I always had Usyk beating AJ. All kinds of wrong for him, great chin, high workrate, efficient, hits hard enough to keep AJ honest...AJ made me a bigger fan in his defeats because I never thought hed win a round.
