Who has a better chance of pulling off an upset, Whyte or Adeleye?

I think Whyte does. Because he has the power to chin this goon moses. While I really don’t think anyone in the world can just go in the and chin Hrgovic. lol His chin is Tex Cobbesque. And he’s not getting out boxed in this particular fight.

 

About equal. Hrgovic went 12 with Mckean and Itauma blew him away with 3x less experience. That suggests Hrgovic and Itauma are at least in the same ballpark. Hrgovic is more durable but Adeleye at this stage of his career would probably chin Whyte

Hrgovic isn't very good and Itauma is.

 

Big D has next to no chance v Hrgovic. Hrgovic is a much better boxer and has a granite chin.

Big D would need to throw combos to stop Hrgovic and I've never seen him throw combos in any sustained way. Very much swings away with one punch, usually very inaccurately.

I can only see Hrgovic easing to a UD in this one.

Whyte does have an outside chance against Itauma given his much greater experience. But I still make Itauma 75:25 favourite.

I make Hrgovic 95:5 favourite.

 

Whyte V Itauma and that is not even a debate personally.

Adeleye is British level at best, he's been exposed before by Sokolowski who is a weak journeyman, and got smashed up by Wardley. Hrgovic is a lot better than Adeleye and I'd expect Hrgovic to bully Adeleye using his one-two. I'd be shocked if Adeleye beats Hrgovic.

 

Sokolowski fight was just unbelievable for me for anyone deemed a prospect then.

 

Those are two really good matchups.

I can see all four guys winning. But, Hrgovic seems the safest bet to win. WTF knows, though.

 

We know nothing about Ituama's chin. The boxing gods don't give it all to one man. Ituama is exceptionally gifted with speed and power. He's going to be lacking in either (or both) stamina and chin. Entirely possible he's packing glass and Whyte catches him. Nobody has ever had it ALL. Doesn't work that way. There's a reason Wlad had a glass jaw or why Mike Tyson was short or why George Foreman was slow -- the boxing gods. Ituama has a weakness that we haven't seen. We don't know what it is yet. Maybe he's got a great chin and his issue is stamina. Who knows.

Hrgovic is a known entity -- and we know he's got a granite chin. Nobody is sparking him with a lucky shot or two. Just not happening. And power is really all Adeleye has over Hrgovic. Crap matchup for Adeleye really.

I'm shocked that so many guys here think Adeleye is live dog against Hrgovic. Adeleye has nothing besides heavy hands. He's very slow, predictable, unskilled and very easy to outbox. He's never reaching top-20 because he doesn't have the tools for that.

 

Adeleye is a more live dog. Hrgovic has come into the ring more than once now in horrendous shape, blowing out of his arse whenever he puts a combination together. He is not a big puncher and he is lazy out of the ring and inside the ring. Therefore, it is conceivable that Adeleye pulls off a win.

Itauma is in the prime of his life, and I do not see how Whyte is physically able to compete in this one and I do not think it goes longer than 6 rounds.

Hrgovic is limited, but Adeleye doesn't really have the right mix to exploit that.

Hrgovic lacks power and stamina, but a long points fight isn't Adeleyes bag either.



If Whyte is in good shape then he's a huge step up for Itauma - and not only is Itauma's chin untested, stamina untested and ability to adjust when up against someone who asks questions he hasn't planned for untested... But Whyte always had heavy hands and was always happy to go off-script - if he's not totally shot and doesn't get blown out early, this could be another Joyce-Dubois moment.

 

Equally, Itauma's never been in with anything remotely close to prime Whyte - yes Dillian is aged and looked poor recently, but if he's in okay shape it's a couple of levels step up for Itauma and we just don't know if he can take that, yet.

Itauma's chin and stamina are big unknowns, too.

 

Whyte has the better chance than Adeleye

Hrgovic is more motivated than ever. Previously he was beating guys without properly preparing, caring or even applying himself enough.

Now that he got his first loss that dropped him to the bottom of the pile he is in the rebuilding phase after a big wake up call.

I think Whyte and Hrgovic are coming into these fights with a lot of motivation, hunger and a point to prove.

Itauma is very inexperienced compared to whyte and I think thats what makes the matchup more vulnerable to ending in a loss for Itauma because you cant cut corners in this game as Anderson found out against Bakole.
