In my opinion GGG is among the best middleweights of all time, and, in this weight class ranking, I'd put GGG ahead of Roy Jones Jr. and Toney, for the simple reason that the Kazakh dominated the division for years, while the other two quickly moved up to the higher weight classes. However, if I think about a match between GGG and Jones and Toney (obviously with all three at the top), I see the Kazakh as the underdog against both, but surely both Roy and James would have had to work hard to beat him.

I think he knocks out Nunn like he did Ishida. Im not giving Nunn the benefit of the doubt.

You would think that, but its not based on any evidence. Just on the GGG fanboyism that's rife on this forum.

Nunn in just three years amassed better wins than Golovkin did in his whole career.

If Nunn was facing the Mathew Macklin's and David Lemieux's of the the world, he too would have had a long undefeated reign.

Theres no way in Hell I'd take Golovkin over the Nunn from the Tate fight.

Speaking of Nunn's wins, I'm not even sold on Golovkin beating Kalambay.

Frank Tate was better than Danny Jacobs, BTW.

Yup. Brawling with Dick Tiger was a huge mistake at middleweight.

He's not David Lemieux or Daniel Geale...

Correct. He's a much worse boxer than Geale or Lemieux, and much slower. His plodding feet make him look like he is stuck in cement. His notable weak spot has always been a guy with a good jab.

Golovkin has always had great feet and a great jab.

He has also been smart about who to brawl with and who not to.

GGG would keep a guy like Tiger on the end of his jab all night. It would be a whitewash.

He looked great against B level contenders/belt holders like Geale and Lemieux, but so did old, small Cotto and BJS. Against the better MWs he didn't stand out, so I find it hard to believe he would historically.

Comparing Ishida to Nunn is absolutely laughable.

The likes of Nunn, Kalambay, would be miles ahead of anyone Golovkin has ever beaten in his career.

Hey it ain’t so bad… what exactly would you like to see more of? I’ll admit us new posters aren’t the wealth of info guys like Garfield, @McGrain @Fleaman, @mcvey, @djanders etc the “classic” classic posters or genuine old timers… all those fellas were or are incredible libraries of boxing history BUT cut us some slack it will take a long time for us to read enough books to stand on equal footing man  a few more years of Bonavena vs RJJ and hopefully we’ll pick up an @apollack book or something.

There are so many great Middleweights.
GGG is right up near the top.

I am going to have to do a top 10 list. I have not really added him into the equations yet.

Where would you rank him, outside the top 10?
