Sounds like Usyk is about to vacate the WBO title.

Parker will move up to full recognition and fight the winner of Whyte-Itauma.

Pretty wild that Dillian Whyte, who isn't ranked in the top 15 by any organization, might get a mandatory WBO title shot if he beats Itauma.

This is like the Chisora-Wallin winner becoming a mandatory.

    Crazy.

From not even in the top 10 to mandatory title shot.

He will likely get the injury extension request yeah?

Warren might push back, but I can't see why they wouldn't give a champ like Usyk at least a little grace.

Easier fights for Parker tbh. I'm disappointed that he won't get a shot for all the marbles though

    Called it!

This is what Frank has wanted all along and Usyk is happy to oblige him because Frank keeps getting him huge paydays to blast out his fighters. Frank gets an easy sellable fight between Moses and Parker which builds both guys' profiles. Then it helps sell Usyk v. Winner next year. Makes Turki happy because he wants Moses v. Usyk, too.

Yeah, I noticed the media were already setting the table for this the day before this interview.

DAZN, Skysports, and TalkSport all publish articles hinting that Usyk was about to duck Parker, and Warren would be lining up the winner of Itauma/Whyte to be Parker's first WBO defence.

Joseph Parker and Moses Itauma could be on collision course for WBO world title: 'It's just a matter of when' | Boxing News | Sky Sports
Strange the DAZN and TalkSport articles seemed to have disappeared from the internet

Does seem that way doesn't it. At the very least, Usyk will yet again be choosing who he fights and when.

Starting to hope we'll see usyk against anyone that's not british (or britain based like Itauma) at least once more. It should be Parker or Kabayel.

Wonder who will fight against usyk next if parker has to fight itauma or Whyte first. Or will it be such a long break?

And kabayel seems to have to bite the dust in the meantime...

Btw I'll be surprised if Itauma easily beats Parker. Turki was wrong before when he thought Wilder would beat Parker which would have surprised me likewise.

Parker is a very very tough opponent for Itauma and I would make him favorite if Itauma doesn't look amazing in at least 5-6 rounds against a good Whyte.

WBO mandatory has been waiting since 2022, I think they might strip Usyk at this point.
But, then again, they do have an interim champ, so... yea. All of this orgs suck ass.

I called it straight after the Dubois 2 win,Usyk will drop a belt to fight for it again to become 3x Undisputed, tbh I would not mind seeing the rematch between Parker and Whyte if he was to get past Itauma .

One thing on this though, how much more money would Usyk likely be getting if Parker is the winner? As WBO champion Usyk would be getting 80% and Parker 20% if it went to purse bids. If Parker becomes WBO champion and Usyk comes back around for the fight later at his convenience those splits will obviously change. Usyk must be getting offered a significantly larger amount of money to do duck this fight, as he Parker won't take 20% as a belt holder in an undisputed fight.

And in doing so he doesn't have to fight the WBC interim, Kabayel (next up in the rotation)
