A bit of a sister thread to the other Patterson one I have going, I think this is also kinda interesting.

Slipped by mind… I was thinking Fitzsimmons in a 10 fight series if he didn’t die  but seriously good pick I’d wager Satterfield would be decent odds also.

Panama, I think, was lighter than Greb, but if Greb is in fact lighter then Greb. Point is those early 20th century medium sized guys who took on any sized guy. Langford's one but Im pretty sure he and Norfolk are bigger than Gans or Greb.

Maybe Marciano. I know a lot of people are saying Langford but aside from just his resume ( which is great ) I’ve never watched him in action.

Possibly Roy Jones Jr. before his heavyweight adventure,
that eventually turned disastrous for him.
Though with Patterson's above average hand speed and
power, Jones Jr would literally be walking through a field
of landmines with one misstep from going boom.

A big Toney would, but a small Toney would be a good fight and Patterson was not much more than a LHW, so Toney could on points

I am genuinely shocked and saddened to find that Samuel "Small Boy" Sams is not on this great thread.

Maybe some of you need to remember what an offensive force Patterson truly was... From one of our former posters, I share this.

That little vegetarian got hit too much for my liking but he let his hands go with confidence and put his punches together SO SO SO well. Floyd is my boxing hero, me and him are short and packing glass :sisi1 at least I tell myself that - he'd basically murder everybody at around 175lbs especially today, him vs Mustafa, Qawi and Spinks would be WICKED!

How do you see Floyd Patterson coping with Beterbiev's power?

i think he's ahead skill wise, but Artur Beterbiev can and WILL land and i'm not sure he would be able to withstand those thunderous punches to win himself
