Whyte gets blown out, then Moses loses to Parker, and we all get the Parker vs Usyk fight. Hooray!

Well, I saw that one coming.
Sad Usyk is claiming injury - hope people hold him to the same standard they did Dubois when he bailed on a Parker fight and demand evidence but I doubt it.

So if Itauma gets past Whyte, which is no guarantee, he'll be in against the number one contender, a former champ who has arguably been in better form recently than when he won a belt? Good luck to him. He'll need it. That's a tough fight.

I think people forget just how inexperienced Itauma really is. We hear all about him sparring this guy and that and giving them hell (almost as many sparring stories as Bakole at this point) but the reality is the kid has had 36 fights amateur and pro. He's a rookie. Green as grass. Untested. Unproven. And lately he seems to believe his own hype.
I have high hopes for his career but to line up Whyte - Parker - Usyk as the path at this point is badly reckless imo and too steep a curve.

Maybe, but if it plays out this way I don't think beating Itauma does anything for Joe to get Usyk in the ring with him tbh.
Fans will do what they always do and retcon Itauma into being too green and not ready to discount Parker's win, and it won't change that Parker doesn't sell well (I say that as a huge fan) so his risk/reward proposition isn't there.

Besides, why should Parker have to jump through another hoop and beat another guy to get his shot at the champ? WBO belt or no everyone knows who the man is at heavyweight.

Imma be honest, I don't like to say Usyk is ducking Parker cause he's not avoiding him out of fear of loss imo, but what else can you call it when the champ won't fight the no. 1 contender?

Dunno to be honest, who cares turki can sell out Wembley and that's all he needs. Or Fury AJ which is a khan brook situation last moment.

They didn't really need to promote their first two fights

They are no longer calling it a "full" title but a pregnant title. About to give birth to a real but stillborn title.

This is a complete bummer but I think its a little odd that people are saying that Usyk doesn't want to fight Parker when he is filing for an extension. Injuries happen in a sport where people hit each other in the head and body. Let's see how this plays out.

Does it really mean much when it's manufactured via targeted belt dropping?

    "INJURY"

If anyone expects to be granted an extension due to injury, the least they should have to do is nominate what the injury is. A medical certificate really should be required as well.

This has the sound of a guy ringing in sick for work so he can play golf with his mates.

So, no sarcasm here. Genuinely interested in the answer. Perhaps you know more about the process than I.

What benefit is there? It seems to me...just to me...that if he he is asking for an extension, he is interested in the fight. If he's not interested, then why not just say that he is injured indefinitely, and will have to surrender the belt because he has to wait six months. If he he is interested, but wants to "play golf" for a moment, then all he would have to do is accept the fight and schedule it for a later date by agreement, right?

By my reading, the only way this makes sense is if he's injured and needs time to gauge the injury.

    Or wrong?
