Povetkin is ok, once again mostly beat poor or old fighters, can’t do a thing with robot Joshua.
Doesn’t give Louis as much trouble as Farr, Schmeling.
Wlad is a great one for Longevity and consistency, but prime for prime in a single fight he’s not top ten calibre.

I compare it to someone like Hopkins, who had goat longevity, but can’t do a thing prime for prime against a truly great fighter like Jones.
I’m not sure there’s any really great fighter who had their ‘best’ period in their mid 30’s. I don’t think it’s physically possible.

Wlad was beating top contenders. Vitali was beating second and third tier heavyweights. Wlad beat 10 Top 10 guys during his reign. Vitali beat only 4. Vitali reigned for 5 years (being active for 4) and had 9 title defences, Wlad reigned for 10 years and had 18 title defences. Your criteria seems seems very random. If you dominate an era you dominate an era, no matter your age. And dominating for ten years must be better than dominating for three. Because for the love of god, don't try and tell me Povetkin couldn't hold a candle to Berbick.

Actually, I think Wlad did a better job of getting his best opponent in their prime than Tyson. No fault of Tyson, though. He just happened to emerge just as a promising era fizzled out, leaving a solid but unspectacular fighter like Berbick as the one with arguably the best recent record.
