Best thread on ESB. Foremost authority on Australian boxing anywhere in the world. Should be going strong until at least the 2032 Olympics & probably for another 10 to 12 years thereafter.

    Australian boxing to do list:

    - Win gold medal at senior amateur World Boxing Championships (Men & Women)
    - Win Olympic gold medal (Men & Women)
    - Win Lineal World Heavyweight Championship
    - Win Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship

Still a few boxes yet to tick & stick around for.

Liam Wilson and Paulo Aokuso are confirmed for Paro card. Also intrigued what Paramount $ 7.7B deal with UFC means for Fox. There PPV events have always being a cash cow for Main Event.

How closely related is the Fox here in the States to Oz's version?

Is yours still owned by Rupert Murdoch or have they spun off and become self-governing?

February last year, the UFC confirmed it had extended its agreement with ESPN Australia to broadcast all Fight Night events and pay-per-view prelims. The end dates of both of those deals weren't made public., Foxtel is currently in the process of merging with DAZN, having been purchased by the sports streaming powerhouse for AU$3.4 billion earlier this year.
Exactly how the UFC will fit into the DAZN/Foxtel business moving forward is also up in the air.

Also add in January 2024, Foxtel announced they'd reached a new "multi-year agreement" for Main Event to be the exclusive home of UFC PPVs in Australia. In announcing their agreement with the UFC, Paramount confirmed they're keeping an eye on the distribution rights in other regions. ''Paramount intends to explore UFC rights outside the U.S. as they become available in the future," a statement read.
So, at least for now, it's business as usual in Australia .

I did read that with the Boxing, DAZN will be doing away with the ppv model after November.
Unsure if No Limit will remain in Fox, but did hear they were exploring their options with other broadcasters, such as Stan Sports.

Foxtel is already shedding jobs and seems Stan could well be the future of boxing in Aust as the unnamed PPV broadcaster if Mundine Bareknuckle venture gets off the ground is Stan.

Talk of Bivol coming up to cruiserweight and fighting Opetaia.

Delightful possibility! There's not much else keeping Opetaia at cruiserweight at present.

Lulzim Ismaili paying around $12 to beat Nikita Tszyu.

Nitika at the 'generous' odds of about $1.06.

The long term plan is to bring Pacquiao back to Queensland to fight Paro. The question is will Manny return to the scene of the crime?
