Ball was looking for the uppercut (lead and rear) every time Goodman went for the left hook to the body. Tough round to score.

 

Ball seems to be landing on the guard quite a lot, his shots that land are more telling but...he's landing on the arms a lot

 

Were you expecting it to be this close?

 

Ball does get better down the stretch though, which should be remembered. He looked out of his depth early against Vargas before pulling it out the bag in the second half and kicking it up a couple gears. And if all else fails, Big Frank will probably bail him out.

 

I feel like Ball is more effective. He's landing the better head shots, but Goodman is land a lot of body shots. Goodman is not throwing enough to separate himself, while Ball is starting to separate himself with better activity and better shots.

 

Ball looking like that gas tank is....wearing out?

Not really. Didn't think Goodman was really world class and that Ball would beat him up. I am very high on Nick Ball and would be gutted to see him lose to someone like Goodman.
