That should be the last time Whyte ever steps into a ring.

If he was younger sure, but his punch resistance seems to have gone. Would have just ended in further punishment.

I don't know much you can put into that performance considering Whyte hasn't been relevant for years and is past it.

But the speed/power/technique is very impressive definitely one of the most impressive looking Heavyweights in recent years.

This is why Usyk & Fury need to retire soon.

    Can happen overnight

The accuracy, the speed, the power, the agility. I've never seen anything like it before

Hand on heart, everytime I tried to envisage this fight I couldn't see Whyte getting out of round 1 but I tried to temper myself and not allow the hype to influence me

To the 32% of people that picked Whyte in that DAZN poll.

I am laughing at you right now

Hrgovic should definitely refuse to fight Itauma if he is offered the fight...

It was no secret that I thought that this was a step too far from Itauma going straight from a good journeyman in Balogun to a seasoned vet/fringe contender in Whyte. Some fighters not even as good as Whyte in Bakole, Allen, Thompson, Joyce have beaten hype jobs before and I thought Itauma would take the step too early here.

However, I put my hands up. This was really a truly excellent win for Itauma, and beating well proven fighters such as Whyte proves that you are a very talented fighter and we have a huge prospect on our hands.

I’m really excited about Itauma in the future, this guy has certainly got incredible potential as a fighter. He may have more questions to answer in terms of stamina, chin, etc but he has answered convincingly the biggest question of all - a certain standard of opposition.

The only thing I’ll say is that I don’t think he is ready for the literal final boss in boxing - Usyk still. But, Kabayel, Dubois, Wardley - if you are capable of beating Whyte, you are capable of fighting seasoned vets to contenders.

I take my hat off to Itauma. That was incredible, I was proven wrong here and I am very impressed.

A meaningless win that proved nothing other than what we all assumed, Whyte is a shell of a man and should've retired after the Fury loss. Of course all of the casuals with eat this up, and buy into the hype. This Itauma is the second coming, until he gets derailed by a rugged journeyman with an iron chin.

Only thing would have happened was Ituama swarming him and knocking him down even worse. That was a good stoppage.
