I mean that's what happened. What do you want me to say?

Whyte got chinned by old Povetkin, beat him, then was lined up to fight Wallin. Whyte pulled out last minute and never rescheduled.
A duck is a duck. They must have seen something in Wallin that would have derailed everything.

LOL Man your ass was wrong as wrong can be. Yeah, Fury looked great against old men and limited power punchers, but once he stepped in there with a real ATG, he got whooped. Usyk, Holmes, Ali, Norton, Biggs, Holyfield, Lewis, Louis, the real Tyson, Douglas , Morrison, Mercer > Fury.

Nice try but that doesn't work I'm afraid.

RJJ beat Griffin in his prime in 1997.

Shuemenov beat Griffin in 2008 11 years later.

Fury beat a shopworn Whyte in 2022.

Itauma beat a shopworn Whyte in 2025 3 years later.

Also trying to create a mental gymnastics comparing Fury's resume to RJJ's resume what a joke.

Fury has only beaten 3 ranked fighters compared to 19 ranked fighters for RJJ.

Fury has won 5 world title fights compared to 23 world title fights for RJJ.

So no your comparison has no logical or merit behind it.

So let me get this straight.

Fury beat a shopworn Whyte his last win over a top 10 ranked Heavyweight and his 3rd best opponent hes ever beaten in his career.

And a 20 year old Itauma with no world level experience destroying Whyte in 60 seconds doesn't make Fury's resume look like a complete joke ?

Yeah and I thought he got hit on top of his head he actually got hit on the back of his head which I've seen buckle some fighters. Top of the head should be an impossible place to hurt someone however

Based on this thread, Whyte beat Parker and Povetkin so I will be adding those to Fury’s CV. Parker beat Ruiz and Zhang so I will also be adding those to Mr Fury’s CV. Then Zhang beat Joyce so we’ll throw him on there as well. And then Dubois who also beat AJ.

Doesn’t really seem right to do it that way though does it?

It also doesn’t seem right to take away Fury’s good wins because his opponents are shot a couple of years later in their late 30s.

    Context is everything...
    1. Fury's resume has never been very good, his whole mystique hinges on dethroning an out of sorts Wlad
    2. I never rated Whyte that highly so I never really thought it added a huge amount to Fury's resume
3.The Whyte from Tetteh fight was obviously even further declined from the one that Fury ko'd, so I wasn't expecting much last night

So no I don't think Itauma beating a shot Whyte who seemed to have balance issues from the ring walk, and clearly has no punch resistance left (unsurprising considering the uppercut losses!) really changes things that much. Sorry!

If you can see that Whyte was already past his prime in 2022, can you see he would be in a much worse place 3 1/2 years later?

and isn't it true that Fury himself was at least 2 years beyond his prime, maybe 6 or 7 years beyond his prime?

Or, anyway, if Fury has no great resume (and I agree with that), shouldn't we all agree that he's one of the weakest heavyweight champions in recent history when he faced Usyk (fresh off a split decision against Ngannou) in 2024?
And therefore Usyk, who actually won those fights quite close, is one of the most overrated heavyweight fighter ever since a washed up overrated Fury is cited as among his best wins ?

Fury doesn’t age, he is a vampire. Same with Mayweather who appearantly picked washed guys while being older with more mileage against most.

I think Fury faced a different Whyte and still stopped him in 6 rounds. And also can styles make fights.

If Fury had went the distance or struggled more then yeah I could see that argument.

Fight with AJ was nowhere close. AJ won at least 10 rounds.

Whyte is Fury's 3rd best opponent hes ever beaten so of course its a big part of Fury's resume it shows how weak his resume really is.

And what makes it even more laughable is that Whyte was Fury's last win over a top 10 ranked Heavyweight who lasted 60 seconds against a novice with no world class experience.

Yes they both beat a shopworn Whyte and yes Whyte was further gone vs Itauma. But it still makes Fury's resume look like a joke when Whyte is the last top 10 Heavyweight Fury has beaten who is also the 3rd best opponent Fury has ever beaten who lasted 60 seconds vs a novice in Itauma.

What is Fury's prime describe it for me ? Did Fury even have a so called prime ? You're saying Fury may of been 2 years past his prime but he was almost losing to the likes of "Wallin" in his so called prime.

Fury never really had a prime he beat a gun shy old Wladimir in one of the worst Heavyweight title fights in history. And he beat the limited Wilder whilst almost getting stopped by him in 2 other fights that's his prime in a nutshell.

Usyk's win over Fury is good because of the size difference like for example Duran's win over Barkley who also wasn't a great fighter.
