Marciano KOs him but definitely goes down 2 or 3 times. Ultimately Wilder's a one trick pony, and Marciano is more clever than most people give him credit for, once Marciano catches on he'll drag Wilder into deep water with a constant assault on Wilder's body until Wilder goes down around the 11th or 12th round.

    1. Two-fisted power as opposed to just a straight right.
    2. Makes shorter height a virtue by coming in low in the catcher's crouch under Wilder's punches.
    3. A guy who can throw 94 punches in the 15th against one of the slowest workrates at heavy (according to compubox)

    Massacre.

People would be SHOCKED how well Marciano would box, landing scoring blows to every knee, turning it into a clinic in shots to the meniscus, the tibia, the fibula, the frenulum and veins, artery, skin, everything.

I can see how Marciano could make it hard on Wilder in many ways. He'd suck up Wilder's space and make him fight in close where his long reach is worst. Wilder simply has no footwork to be able to dictate the range. Marciano had stamina for days and he'd land plenty on Wilder through a long bout, especially since Wilder has the defence of a tree stump.

On the other hand I have come to appreciate Wilder more, too. Wilder's chin is actually pretty good, and his stamina is good too. He has a large size advantage and even though he is light on the skills, he has outrageous power and will keep plodding forward to make it stick.

I can see routes for both guys to win, to be honest. Might be one of those scenarios where people are like "omg Wilder is getting beaten down by that little guy", until he switches the little guy off with one punch, idk.

    Marciano stops him.

Look, size DOES matter. It does. Lewis, Holmes, Ali, they all beat Rocky. Size plays a factor though, only if the big guy can fight at least a little. Wilder is just a very poor, unlearned fighter. Literally all he can do is punch. With one hand, at least.

I’m 100% certain that almost none of you picking Rocky would put your money on the guy if this match-up were to happen tomorrow.

I would have if we'd only seen the Wilder before the Fury fights.

But his fights with Fury showed me that he actually had a pretty good chin, a lot of heart and good stamina to go with his big punch. If those three factors were absent, I would probably put money on Marciano to stop his ass.
