Against a better wrestler, he was also fatigue , and they are full of sweat. He should have taken the breathing opportunity and dirty fighting on top. In my opinion.
As silly as it sounds, this is a totally winnable rematch for DDP. Chimaev was in complete control, yet still ran out of gas in the 5th. DDP barely landed a handful of punches, barely offered any resistance in the first two rounds, and Chimaev still struggled in the end.
If ddp would have won Id have won close to a grand lol. Damnit. I just really overestimated DDPs ability to sprawl out of some of the tds and ability to scramble up a bit more. I also thought Chimaev would spend more time striking. Props to Chimaev, in its own way it was an amazing performance
No doubt in my mind that Chimaev is on endurance boosters. He gassed in every fight prior to this that went beyond 1 round. Also he would have gassed sooner under proper MMA rules with more stand-ups. MW division is ****ed now.
Chimaev doesn't have to do anything different. The fans may hate it but what he did was in the rules.
DDP was never even close to being finished. In Pride or earlier UFC this would have been stood up more. UFC wants Chimaev as champ for that Arab money. Looking forward to seeing the belt defended once every 15 months now.
When they got separated in the 5th? Nah, he was not on the verge of getting stopped, and this doesn´t change the fact that Chimaev looked gassed.
He should learn how to throw elbows from the crucifix. ' Truly an amazing guy tho. Struggled with Burns and Usman, but dominated Whittaker and DDP with ease. And even tho DDP offered little resistance throughout, he did defend himself really well.
Maybe so. But DDP could not stand up without the ref's help. I found it boring as hell but Khamzat was working. DDP didn't deserve to stand up.
I am not denying that at all, why are you arguing with me? The two times the fight got stood up were BS in my opinion. And it´s the only reason Dricus landed a single punch in round 3.
