You're right, Griffin hurt Jones's resume because he beat him whereas Whyte helped Fury's resume because he disposed of him and hurt your feelings when Whyte was a top ten contender.

What do you mean based on the thread ? What you're doing is something completely different you're adding names to Fury's resume who he never fought are you ok my guy ?

You're creating your own mental gymnastics.

2011 and 2014 Chisora was better than 2020s Whyte for people who watched boxing back then.

Correct, even though he was just about the worst top five guy I can think of.

Griffin was in his prime Whyte wasn't.

Griffin won by DQ in a fight where he was about to be stopped of course you miss that context as always.

Whyte had already been stopped quicker by an ancient shot 41 year old Povetkin.

Fury’s 3rd best opponent and his only 3rd opponent hes ever beaten in the top 10 being stopped in 60 seconds by a novice doesn't help his resume my guy.

When you have to big up a fringe contender as one of Fury's best wins you know it's bad.

I'm not. It's just how it was for people who watched boxing back then.

Wladimir was not at his physical peak but he was the best in the world at the time and the favorite coming in and we saw what he had left again AJ later on.

Of course, Povetkin was only three years younger than when Whyte beat him back when Joshua logged the third best win of his career. And Joshua never had a trilogy with his second best opponent although trilogies apparently count like one fight.

You are though ? And I did watch boxing back then ? This is not the 1970s my guy I probably see more of Fury's early fights than what you did he always on a channel called ITV in the UK which was free to watch.

His prime was probably 2014 and 2015 when he fought Chisora the 2nd time and fought Wlad.

But Wilder 2 was a great performance.

OK. Every boxer has a prime even if it's not brilliant. It's all relative.
Barkley was coming off a top middleweight win. Barkley had defeated Hearns. Duran had been struggling with journeymen at the time, it was a great comeback.

Fury, in your reckoning, is a guy who doesn't really have a prime or a resume. As well as that, he struggled to beat Wallin a light punching southpaw 5 years earlier and he struggle to beat Ngannou a complete absolute novice boxer a few months earlier. Who cares if he's 260, 280 pounds? Just a fat guy who was never any good, right? How on earth does he amount to much at all on Usyk's resume? Unless Usyk simply doesn't have a great heavyweight resume himself.

I'll give you that one that was quite funny I'm not gonna lie.

But no seriously Fury was hyped up in the UK even in the early days because of his personality i always used to see his fights on ITV.

I never thought he would come close to being champion because at that time he was known as the meme boxer who punched himself and Price was considered a better prospect.

Fair dues to Fury though I'll give him some credit I didn't think he'd beat Wladimir I'll admit that.

Realistically Whyte probably wasn't top 10

Why should a dq loss in a fight Jones was winning affect his resume. He was in his way to winning via kayo
