Two MW contenders from the 80s who were never in a boring fight, had a style like a smaller version of Joe Frazier, and even fought similar opponents (Fletcher, Mugabi, Scypion) but never had the chance to face each other.

Any ideas of who comes out victorious in this epic slugfest?

I would give the edge to Parker, because he was more of a natural middleweight in that era.

I could see their fight being a toe-to-toe punchout. Lots of blows landing to the head and body.

Green was tough as nails, but he was more of a true junior middleweight.

I think Parker's physicality and weight would provide him with just enough edge, leading to a late stoppage or 96-94 or a 97-93 type decision.

Yeah, Parker. Tough fight, and a good action fight but he’s just naturally bigger while being on more or less even terms skill-wise.

Hard Rock Green's height is also 5′ 4½″ which is mind boggling for someone who fought at 154 and 160. Size difference would be a major factor. Shame we never got to see the two fight but apparently they both burned out rather quickly.

That pressure-cooking style was always going to burn out fast. Like a streaking comet and then it's gone. Add Frankie Warren to the mix of Parker and Green as well.

I never understood Parker's management in that he seemed to be always matched up with a tough boxer even when coming off a loss. I mean 27 of his opponents had winning records and he met Davis,Sycipion, and Hamsho all in a row even though he was coming off losses.
They said when Hearns, who at the time was a welterweight, was in Philly for a bout that Parker got the best of Hearns on a couple of occasions.

Wouldn't be surprised. He was known as a real gym bruiser. Heard he really gave Michael Spinks a going over as well.
