And he could punch like nothing Rocky ever experienced, the same Rocky who was dumped by a geriatric, who was staggered by that same geriatric, who was dropped by a lightheavy, who's right eye was pummeled by the only punch, a jab, possessed by an ancient mummy who claimed to be Joe Louis. Everyone who fought Wilder up until recently, who sparred with Wilder, said he was very good at lining up his punches and creating distance from nothing where needed in order to groove that right hand (and he did have a lot of power in that left, too). He was not without craft, but it all revolved about lining up his one overwhelming advantage, his power shot. Yet, the couchbound set would prefer he had focused on his weaknesses so that he could be another mediocre underachieving Olympian bust... but at least he would survive their all important eye test.

    Wilder KO2.

Never understood the myth, that he didn't have a good chin. During the third fight, I found myself screaming to the TV "How is this mother****er still standing?"

Counter the points not the pointer. Ad hominem, I believe it is called.

Look, at the end of the day I trust my own “eye test” more than yours. The rest we can chalk up to provocation for the sake of an attempt to be edgy.

And likewise regarding the eye test. The rest we can chalk up to silly nostalgia driven estimations.

You can say that Marciano had a more impressive career without devolving into the belief he'd also KO Wilder.

I think the size difference would be too extreme and Wilder skilled or not didn't seem to have a weak chin. The difference in reach would be comical, Wilder could swing at him from distances Rocky couldn't imagine any of his contemporary competition doing.

But Wilder was not a big guy. Tall, yes, but he weighed in at 212 for many of his fights. I can see all those men you mentioned defeat Rocky along with the Klits, probably Holyfield, Bowe but not Wilder.

Over 15 rounds? Rocky drops a punch like Big Bang Zhang did and it's lights out.

I don't think Martin Luther would be a fan of Marciano

You could say the same if Wilder was fighting Frazier. Every advantage he has over Marciano, he has over Frazier but lots on here think Frazier has the beating of Wilder.

Only thing is Rocky would be hit harder than he ever was. And when he does, what happens? If he can recover, he wins. If not, he loses by KO

Well, it's like take Frazier, but make him even smaller, lighter and with an even shorter reach.

So, Rocky in this matchup is Fraizer with more handicaps added. So, that's why I don't see this as a remotely easy fight for Rocky or one anyone should argue he'd easily win.

Also, Joe was facing tougher competition than Rocky did so that also helps his case.
