Yeah, pretty much. People are deluding themselves here and Crawford probably is too.

Yeah what makes you say that?
Bud looked less the stellar in his 154lb debut.
Now he is jumping in at 168lb 1st fight vs canelo… “PeyDey”

I think its possible that this turns into another Canelo v Charlo scenario where Crawford is just too small and doesnt hit hard enough to deter Canelo. Obviously Crawford is a way better boxer than Charlo.

Canelo to me looked very lackluster vs Scull, I know he blamed the lack of a crowd which I am wishy washy on but he had no urgency and a poor jab and struggled to do much against Scull who was content to just stay well out of range. Can Crawford do something like what Scull did but just more effective offensively and eek out a patient and tactical affair?

I think if Canelo is motivated and firing on all cylinders and in great shape he is going to back Crawford up to the ropes, corner him and score effectively to a decisive decision where Crawford has moments but just doesn't have enough

I don't recall Crawford being 4 inches shorter than Canelo with 4 inches less reach.

Bud has that DOG inside him but this is a mountain to climb at new (weigh) heights.

I can’t see a win for Bud unless Big Red just fall to pieces on the ring walk

I don't see it playing out the same way as Garcia-Spence. This is not to say I think Bud will win because I still don't know who I'm picking. However, Spence was close to his prime and Mikey was toward the end of his career and going up to a 4th weight class. While Bud's situation sounds quite similar to Garcia's, Alvarez' circumstances are nowhere near the same as Spence's were.

Even though Canelo is noticeably slower than he once was, no longer throws explosive combinations and doesn't cut off the ring quite like he used to I thought there was no way Crawford was going to move to 168 and take him down. Then the William Scull fight happened. Canelo looked old, slow and impotent in that fight. I was stunned at the obvious decline in his performance. Perhaps Alvarez didn't take Scull seriously or maybe it was just one of those nights but .... maybe not.

In any event, I expect the fight to be, at the very least, more competitive than Garcia-Spence. Bud will find some success where Mikey found next to nothing.

It’s a huge jump in weight and age is a factor but, I wouldn’t bet against Crawford. I’m picking Crawford.

This is such a stupid fight and when it's all over hardcore fans on here are going to be annoyed with themselves for taking the bait. I still maintain that Crawford has no chance.

bud is getting beat up. he doesnt have the power to deter canelo, and he doesnt have the frame to assimilate canelos punches. and another very important fact most people see as the opposite, is that canelo has faster hands on reaction. that counter he dropped berlanga with was like a lightning strike. he hasnt lost the speed.
i think canelo is going to come in lighter than he has in years, and will immediately take ownership of the ring. he will make bud work 3 minutes of every rd to empty him for the second half of the fight. and hes going to hurt him.
