Good fight. We don't know how shot Whyte is.

It does not make any sense for Itauma to fight a guy who lost to the guy he beat in 1 rd just for the round experience

Let's break it down nice and simple. Do you know why they are talking about him frighting Franklin? Do you understand the thinking behind it?

Have you seen the Franklin fight? I thought he beat Whyte and I'm far from alone in thinking that.

If it happens within the next 2 months and Itauma takes another fight before the end of the year, this is a good development fight.

I honestly thought Franklin beat Whyte when they fought and he was cagey enough to take Joshua the distance 2 years ago, so he should be able to give the kid some much needed rounds.

This is the US sparring partner that gave Whyte and AJ rounds in the bank 3-4 years ago in glorified sparring sessions.

If Itauma goes down this route the public is going to get increasingly bored with him.

It’s simply not the level he needs to be fighting at.

Franklin arguably beat Whyte and went the distance with Joshua yet he's not a good enough opponent for a guy with a total of 26 rounds of experience?

It's natural to want to throw Itauma in with the top 5, but why rush? The hype train is getting too far ahead of itself, he still needs tests and Franklin will give him the test he needs which is rounds. There wont be an awful lot of resistance but im happy with this, after this...stick him in with Zhang or Hrgovic and then Parker and them for me Usyk. That would be his next 18 months if it were upto me.

He went the distance as a cream puff who was in there with two shot fighters looking to pad their records prior to their next big pay day. Lets not pretend he is anywhere near that level or deserving of this fight.

If Itauma's team goes down this route they are making a big mistake, they risk Itauma becoming bored and the public becoming bored.

I doubt that Franklin will last long in this fight, he is a tough fighter, but Itauma is going for a knockout within three rounds...

Thanks to his chin, Hrgovic would offer good resistance for at least 6 rounds, after that he probably becomes a punching bag...

Not as good as Hrgovic but still a smart move imo, Jermaine is tough and is certainly a step-up from Itauma’s previous opposition as far as skills go, a good way to test Itauma’s stamina and skillset, albeit a bit too safe.
