Not to warrant hype he's not. Fight Hrgovic if you guys want that if not then shut up for the time being.

    It's a good fight.

Franklin then Hrgovic, then a top 5 guy is the way to go.

After the AJ fight I remember Franklin saying he’d never fight in the UK again.
Perhaps a big bag of cash will help change his mind.

Franklin was a cream puff wheeled out for Whyte and AJ to pad their records before their next big pay day. How that qualifies him for Itauma is anyone's guess?

Wild take about Anderson. When he fought Forrest he was almost 2,5 years older than Itauma against Whyte.
Also Forrest was a great test because he won 1 in his last 6 fights before facing Jared but Whyte was obviously shot while winning his lat 3 fights and 4 of last 6 with names like Povetkin or Franklin. Make it make sense.

What does age have to do with anything? My point was clearly that Jared was facing better competition than Moses has faced.

Forrest is a journeyman. He's not supposed to beat anyone decent. He's supposed to be an easy win to put on your record. Yet he's drawing with skilled, Top 10-20 HWs. He faced all those guys in a space of 2 years. Takam (gatekeeper type), Zhang (18th ranked HW), Hunter (11th ranked HW), Pulev (17th ranked HW). Meanwhile, the last time Whyte looked good was against Povetkin which was over FOUR years ago. He had one fight against Franklin (which most people thought he lost) in '22 and then didn't fight for TWO YEARS because of failed PED tests. Then he looked like warmed over dog crap against Hammer (240th ranked HW) and Tetteh (222nd ranked HW).

It's wild how so many of you have zero ability to just, ya know, use your eyeballs. Go watch Jerry Forrest's fights leading up to his fight with Anderson. Then rewatch Whyte's last couple of fights. It's night and day. Whyte is shot, off his PEDs, and honestly he looked like he couldn't even be bothered to try with Moses. Just there for a paycheck. How is that not obvious to you people? The man hardly threw a punch! He didn't even attempt to clinch or fire back when he was on the ropes! Just shelled up and immediately fell over. But nah, it's not that Whyte is shot, weight drained, and with zero punch resistance. Somehow it's actually the magical superpowers Itauma has in his fists that mean glancing blows are like being hit with atom bombs. /facepalm

He needs to take a fight where people think he could lose, that’s how you improve, if not, he could stagnate and it could make him worse.

Well, since you’re comparing the competition of two up-and-coming fighters still in their growth and learning phase, their age difference should play quite a role in your claim. The number of fights isn’t the only indicator of how a fighter is being developed.

As for Whyte being shot, I won’t argue against that I just find it funny that you suggest fighting him in the 13th fight is nothing compared to a ‘huge test’ in Jerry Forrest.

Franklin is a decent opponent hes probably a fringe top 20 Heavyweight who's never been stopped and has some decent skills.

As I've said in another thread I don't see what the rush is putting Itauma in with the likes of Usyk or etc.

Let him develop as a fighter get some rounds in and more experience and he will be ready for a title shot in like 2 years.

The only thing is I want Itauma to be a bit more active because I remember he beat McKean in 1 round it took him 6 months to get another fight he should be more active if he's scoring early stoppages.

Look at Tyson he had 26 fights in under 2 years during his early development.

I'm not sure if Usyk will be around in 2 years, so if he wants that fight he has to get a wiggle on.

But otherwise I would agree and say that their is no need to rush him, let him build and develop more organically.

6-9 months or so ago I think this would be a really good fight for Itauma. My concern is Franklin hasn't fought for 16 months and will be coming in cold and may get blown away.

But that said it's still a decent "learning" fight.

Why everyone acts as if Jermaine gonna show up to get treated like a punching bag. He fires back. What has Ituama proven so far other than beating 40 yrs old Whyte? Isn't a so-called "upset" possible? 33 votes on this guy over zero on the other guy is crazy. At least Jermaine fought AJ as a plus. Been reading the forum for a long time but eventually felt the need to write something regarding this.
