52 year old Ibeabuchi's opponent Idris Afinni makes a remark during a press conference in Surulere promoting the fight, that Ibeabuchi is "...is an old man!", and later in a video adds that Ibeabuchi is "old enough to be my father" and he will destroy his older opponent. Afinni also comments he is "no David Tua" in reference to the 12-round war between Ibeabuchi and Tua, and The President responded that Tua would have killed and destroyed him in his prime.
However just before the antics at the presser Ibeabuchi says he is currently lighter than he was during his last fight against Chris Byrd and is ready for the fight, he runs 10-15 miles and does 4 hours of training a day, then proceeds to call out Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship and requests his homeland of Nigeria to support him in his cause to return to heavyweight greatness, to be part of his "accolades", his notable victories.

Ibeabuchi would've been 12 when he was born, wouldn't even be old enough to be his dad, what a stupid comment

Despite all his misdeeds, I can't help but cheer for Ike.

    War Ibeabuchi.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ike was his actual once 12 year old father.

Even someone like John Ruiz would have taken Aifnni out in the same time Tua knocked him out

Although Afinni is far from world level, he's still a more dangerous opponent than Danny Williams who was supposed to be an original opponent for Ike.

Good luck to the great Ike Ibeabuchi Mr President. He was a great fighter and uncrowned heavyweight champion of the world.

I was thinking an Ike win would cause Fury to come out of retirement.

He still has power but his legs are totally gone. That jelly collagen like stuff between the knees joints has broken down and you don't get that spring in your step and punches anymore.
