It’s kind of easy to see why this place doesn’t get much traction LOL. Ok the main event wasn’t that exciting or entertaining. But the main card was so good minus that. Back to back spinning elbow KOs in the feature and co main, great sub in the first fight of the main card and MVP Vs Jared was a close awkward matchup. What more could you want???? Respect to the homies that kept it real in this thread
For me DDP is the reason why the fight was not exciting. Showed no desire to try and get back up on the premise Khamzat may tire in 4th or 5th. What tf did he do in camp.
I think DDP’s problem in the matchup is that because he doesn’t excel in one particular area technically, he struggled. He’s physically strong, good chin, great heart, great will to win, but that isn’t the kind of style that’s going to beat Chimaev. If I’m looking for a style that might be able beat Chimaev or some attributes that would help. -Good Footwork, preferably fast as well Able to stay on the outside, but also skilful enough to stay off the fence -Good Variety of striking, leg kicks, long jab Similar to before, but be able to have a variety of attack to keep Chimaev guessing -Accurate and genuine power Keep him wary, keep him at bay, punish rushing in, still keep the centre of the ring to an extent Dricus doesn’t really have any of that. He’s well rounded, but doesn’t excel in any area and he’s very much a pocket fighter as well which is just disastrous. This is also why I was so surprised that people thought it would either be close or actually had DDP to win. It’s just a mismatch stylistically
Chimaev is by far the best middleweight, it`s a weak division, the lightweight division is stronger, it would take a middleweight version of Islam to beat Chimaev.
I skipped the post fight interviews, and I cant believe that he said this. Yea, I don't think Chimaev will be champ for long. This content is protected
This is why mma is pretty much finished now. No one wants to watch 2 oiled up blokes roll around & bum eachother for 20 mins
Nah, it´s not because of one bad fight. Its because their matchmaking has gone to **** over the years, the UFC that is. I got into MMA in around 2015 or so. For me, the UFC events from then to 2020 were pretty amazing, and I really enjoyed the fight nights too. But roughly halfway through their ESPN deal there was a shift in quality, and it´s only gotten worse. And the old UFC fans say that by 2015 it had already gotten bad. 300 era has been mediocre, and I hardly ever get exited for any of the cards. How the hell was Aaron Pico the co-main of 319?
It’s crazy where it was and where it is now. Even Bellator pre 2020 put in great cards for a few years. The UFC really monopolised the game and don’t even spend time promoting their fighters properly, they barely hold re fight press conferences anymore. They are more focused on churning out 40+ cards a year with fighters that can just about kick it at world level, but also fight 3/4 times a year. They also don’t want another Jones or Mcgregor, hence why they don’t spend time hyping up or promoting their fighters anymore, because they can ask for WAY more money and call their own shots.
Even though he’s a massive hater of muslim Dagestani and Chechen fighters I completely agree with Nate’s take here: This content is protected
