I think Holyfield's gas tank takes over in the late rounds and wins on points maybe a very late stoppage but AJ would cause problems.

Bowe is a more natural fighter. I will give you that.

But AJ is a more well-drilled fighter. He has obviously spent more hours in the gym and boxes at a much better technical level.

Where AJ also falls short is that he lacks heart and I think he gives up mentally if he gets into deep waters. So I agree that if Holyfield smacked him up he might see flashbacks of a short fat Mexican and cave in.

But until that point AJ is a very dangerous fighter. He combines well drilled technique with massive power.

The difference between the Bowe / Holyfield fights and an imaginary Holyfield / AJ fight is that I think the going would be much harder for Holyfield until he achieved sustained success, and at that point it becomes much easier. Whereas with Bowe, who is a lesser technician than AJ, but who had much more heart, Holyfield had to battle for the win all the way. At least, that's how I see it.

Yeah, because Holyfield was a chin limited fighter...? Seriously? Lol.

Yeah, Cooper buzzed him good. And then he recovered real quick, because Holyfield was the rare combo of ATG chin and ATG recovery ability in one man.

I dunno, I have a hard time seeing AJ have the same type of mobility or agility as Bowe. Holyfield could fight at so many distances and angles I have a hard time seeing AJ deal with that. AJ is still dangerous fighter for anyone though. It would have been a good fight.

AJ is 100% more skilled than Bowe, he just has 0 grit.

If you lack grit or heart going in against an Evander your coming up short. I have never seen AJ overcome adversity like Evander did time and time again.

Aj has better fundamentals. He's textbook with power, Frank Bruno 2.0. Bowe has more ways to attack you and a stronger jab.

Fair, except for we disagree about the jab.

I've never seen anyone get rocked by a joshua jab. Dubois completely dominated the battle of jabs

I feel AJ was more versatile with his jab. He could use it to set up his offence or to control guys like in the Ruiz fight. Bowe may have had a harder jab, idk. I've never been punched by either, and thank God for that.

Pre-Ruiz AJ would do sort of OK until he has one of his lactic acid overloads, where Holy would then proceed to stop him as he blew out for 3 rounds straight.

Post-Ruiz AJ would simply get dogged and overwhelmed as he tentatively tries to stay away from engagements with Holy.

If AJ comes in like he did with DuBois, he might get slept by Cooper.
