Most great fighters thrive off of beating the more aggressive types but surely there's fighters that actually have a knack for beating the more defensive style boxers. Any fighters in mind that have consistently beaten fighters who were normally the highly technical pure boxer types that were hard to hit?

First guy to come to mind for me is Vicente Saldivar who had beaten such guys like Ismael Laguna, Howard Winstone, Jose Legra, Johnny Famechon.

    Barrera vs Hamed

    Saddler vs Pep

    Oscar and Tito vs Whitaker

Anyone whoever beat Lara and Rigo

I'd say Floyd has at least 3 gift decisions that went his way vs Castillo I, Oscar and Maidana I.

McCallum beat Graham and Kalambay and drew with Toney, that’s berserk. Some argue he won the first four rounds against a peak Roy Jones, in his 40s with a belly.

Toney is another actually, beating Nunn, Reggie Johnson, Sanderline Williams and arguably Griffin twice.

Those two guys, McCallum and Toney, are ****ing boxing 101s.

A one sided beating indeed but to Camacho's credit he's a really tough hombre. Just the fact that he hasn't been stopped once in his career, not even against a prime ODLH or Trinidad, is crazy.

Not sure if Chavez has beaten any other quality defensive fighters though. Perhaps Roger Mayweather?

Roy Jones Jr showed some success against boxers with great defense and movement such as Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Reggie Johnson, Virgil Hill, and Mike McCallum (yes I know he was old but that still counts).

Absolutely ... Hector took beatings from Chavez, De La Hiya and Tito and none of them could stop him but Chavez did it first when Hector was closest to a prime ...

Duran, beats Leonard, Buchanan,Marcel,Fernandez,De Jesus and Viruet.

Add up Camacho a little, and tbh..for a puncher Jorge Castro can move quite well in the ropes, add him in too.

Ray Leonard out fought defensive whiz Benitez in a virtual chess match. Ray missed a lot more than usual but still got the job done and with a late round stoppage.

Generically, elite swarmers can provide as the perfect or at least sufficient antidote for highly skilled, defensive masters.

Perhaps to exemplify the point, let’s speculate on Frazier vs Young, who would you have? Not ending well for Jimmy, IMO.

They didn’t have great defense and movement when he fought them.
