but he never retired I would personally like to see him just take a farewell fight or two in his native country against a couple decent, but non threatening types, just to go out on top in front of his fans
That's only a technicality. What do you think GGG has been doing the past 3 years? Extended gap year? If GGG were to fight again it would be a comeback not a continuation.
Yea, I've come to an understanding that some people get a WiFi connection and just say anything for the sake of gaining attention.
It's hilarious to hear a FAN say what a world class athlete needs to do. If the fans had the answers then they wouldn't just be....the fans. Do you really think Crawford is sitting in Colorado right now thinking about a fight vs GGG? This thread was based on a journalist pushing a "rumor"..... Not something that Crawford inquired about. Everyone close to Crawford and/or has visited him while in camp has marveled at his focus and dedication to his preparation for the opponent at hand. If you can find just one person who says the opposite, please show us all.
Well, the thread is about Crawford and Golovkin talking about fighting if Crawfotlrd wins. Secondly, there have been many guys that looked past an opponent and paid the price for it. Do I think Bud is that guy? No, of course not. I would hope Bud knows Canelo is the wrong dude to look past.
Pointing out that there are many guys who look passed their current opponent doesn't change anything I said. I only address the individual you said that needs to stay focused. You didn't speak in general, you mentioned Crawford by name. Thus I asked if you really think he is not focused by pointing out that it's well documented by his peers and others that he is very professional in his preparation. Also, reminding that the thread is talking about Crawford & Golovkin talking about a fight has already been addressed in what I said....... Again, the talks......were RUMORS and it's pushed by a journalist who isn't speaking with either camp, he's pushing this off of what he calls "his sources". Crawford understands more than any of us just how important it is to prepare for what Canelo will bring to the ring. If you haven't noticed..... Unlike a lot of these younger competitors like Jaron Ennis or Ryan Garcia or Shu Shu Carrington......Crawford isn't doing interviews when he is well into camp. You'd be lucky if you can get one of his coaches to do an interview during that time. You have to catch Crawford either just before or at the start of his camp if you are going to get any real quotes from him. Canelo is the same way to my knowledge.
I was answering your question about a world class athlete not being prepared by pointing out that fighters in the past paid a big price for overlooking an opponent. I also stated that I don't think Crawford will overlook Canelo. And just because talks are just rumors, doesn't mean it's not true.
I like your enthusiasm, but I have my concerns. I think if Crawford is good at the new weight and can handle or avoid Canelo's power, then yes, Crawford should whoop him. But those answers will only be answered on fight night. WAR BUD!!!
