Usyk seems to confirm that he is going to fight on after Dubois

If Usyk chooses to fight anyone except for Parker or maybe Kabayel, is that counted as a duck?

Imo yes, but not because he's afraid of losing. It means he is chasing maximum dollar

    Fury rearranged the first fight.

Both Joshua fights were delayed because of Joshua’s side. The first one they waited because they wanted full crowds to be allowed in the UK and the second one because they wanted to give Joshua time to gel with Robert Garcia.

Wish he’d retire. Be a shame if he gets beat purely by getting old.

Yeah I get what you are saying, it was a bit out of his control, but Fury or Joshua would be getting roasted under the same or similar circumstances where as Usyk gets a bit of a pass. Usyk isn't exactly an especially active fighter either way, especially at heavyweight. I'm glad they are getting this Dubois match out of the way in July though, Usyk initially said Spring at the earliest.

That evidence is mounting every day Usyk continues to refuse to negotiate with Parker.

Perhaps Usyk will still honour his mandatory but he has already waited out 28 of the 30 days without picking up his phone and negotiating with Parker.

What he has actually said is that he needs some recovery time, which is not at all unreasonable in a sport where people punch each other in the face. Now, I have been hoping for the Parker fight longer than almost anyone, and I think Joe deserves to be upgraded and face Usyk as champion if this can't be resolved, but no, I have still not heard Usyk say he isn't interested. In fact, just the opposite. He's given every indication that he is still interested in being undisputed.

Clearly, there are no signs whatsoever so far that Usyk wants any part of Parker.

Yes, the fact that he is saying that he wants an extension to deal over the WBO belt is a sign that he might want to fight Parker. That is what it is, and nothing but. If it wasn't at least one of a couple of options, he would drop the belt like he already did the IBF.

Frankly, I think Joe deserves to be a two-time titlist by now, and it could be great if he walked in the ring against Usyk as such.

Parker has heard nothing from Usyk. 28 days of absolute silence. That isn't the behavior of someone keen to make a fight. It's the exact opposite.

Hopefully in the next 2 days Usyk will pick up the phone. If he doesn't he deserves to lose the title.

It's the behavior of someone who has said he wants more time to rest.

Once the truth is spoken, one can only repeat it. He's given up a belt before, and he is not doing that here. He has openly said he wants an extension on negotiation time. That means he will negotiate, when he is ready.

It has been posted here already that Usyk has been informed he won't be getting an extension.

On that basis, he either picks up the phone and honours Parker, his mandatory, or he bins the belt.

    A) I actually heard today the opposite
    B) Not really relevant. The point is that he's still interested in keeping the belt. He's not outright surrendering it like he did the IBF title.

I'll be very pleasantly surprised when I hear Usyk express any interest in fighting Parker.

Can anyone explain why Usyk can't negotiate to fight Parker later after a long rest if he actually intends to fight Parker?

Because it looks like he is just stringing it along to keep his options open atm.
