    Fight Parker: $20M payday
    Fight Fury: $50M payday,

    What's so mysterious about it?

Well , on the one hand its pure speculation that a meaningless fury trilogy would really give more purse than a WBO title defence against parker , not sure , and on the other hand even if : than give up your belt when you do not want to defend it , for whatever reason .

Personally i doubt that the payday is so crucial here . Usyk is one of the best paid boxers , more than he can ever spend in ukraine . Usyk has enough money , i think it is also very important for him not to risk to loose a fight for promotion in his own country .

Ok, so you're saying Usyk thinks he will lose to Parker and ducking him. Interesting.

I don't think Usyk believes that he loses to anyone. But there is a spectrum of difficulty and risk and i suspect that Parker falls into too much work and risk.

Ok, so you're saying Parker is too risky, therefore Usyk avoids him and wants to fight Fury instead. Interesting as well.

    1. Those two versions of Whyte aren't even remotely comparable.

    2. Triangle theories don't work.

I'm a casual boxing viewer. I've never said I'm very knowledgeable about boxing.

However, I believe that Teddy Atlas knows more than all users in this forum, and he says Itauma KOes Usyk. If he can KO Usyk, he can hospitalize Parker easily.

All we can say for sure is that usyk is obviously avoiding parker ( otherwise this fight would happen ) and with a very high probability also kabayel . Why he avoids them is speculation

There is no chance Usyk is afraid to fight Parker. Parker simply isn't good enough to give him even the slightest worry. He may just consider it a meaningless fight at this point in his career. And, for Usyk, it really is pointless. If Parker steamrolls Itauma, I would change my opinion.

Is this reminding anyone else of Lewis vs Klitschko? I mean in the fact that Usyk is looking to retire and this could be his last legacy fight. Just to list some similarities.
    • They are similar ages, Usyk and Parker are ~1 year older than than Lewis and Klitschko were.
    • Klitschko and Parker are both former 1 time WBO champions.
    • Usyk is the clear best and has one or two fights left, like Lewis.
    • The odds are pretty similar at around 5 to 1 for the challengers.
    • The champ is seemingly reluctant to face the challenger.
    • Klitschko and Parker are both on decent win streaks.
    • Parker could go on and do well in the division just like Vitali did.
The Parker fight (and win) for Usyk could end up being one of the most important for his long term legacy. Just like the win over Vitali aged into one of Lewis' best wins.

The difference is that Vitali went on to be a long time champion. Parker has proven on several occasions that he just isn't championship material. Beating a couple shot veterans and a 300 pound tub of lard doesn't change that.

He doesn't want to fight Parker, because he has left just 2 or 3 fight left in his career, and he's not avoiding him because it's a risky fight, he's avoiding him because it would be a small payday.

He wants more time to land bigger offers. Maybe he's waiting for Itauma to get bigger so that Turki will come up with a huge paycheck for Itauma fight. Or he's waiting for Jake Paul, AJ, Fury.

    • Option 1: Parker + Kabayel + Itauma = $50M
    • Option 2: Fury + AJ + Itauma = $150M
Obviously option 2 is more beneficial for Usyk.

Another caveat is Usyk and his motivation. He has been talking about retirement for some years now, to one degree or the other. He has also spoken about how none of what he does is because of motivation, but simply due to discipline.
I think he might be unable to let go of boxing, while at the same time he only wants to take fights that motivate him. He had two fantastic fights with Fury, and I bet he is more excited for a third one rather than a fight with Parker.
