I think we are a bit premature with these Moses threads, aprt foram37 years old thoroughly washed Whyte what has Itauma done to start matching him with tried and tested men? Itauma comes from a town about 15 minutes from me, and I like what I have seen of him,But I want to see him taken rounds and hit on the chin by a puncher before I start buying into the hype.
It might make certain people feel smart to ramble about how it’s too soon to tell, but anyone who is honest with themselves and has watched both fight knows that Itauma probably drills Norton, and probably early.
There’s a long list of hyped fighters who came on strong who looked like the next big thing that completely fizzled or withered amongst great fighters. I will admit I like what I see from the kid. The most promising I’ve seen since Usyk maybe. Heck a few months ago this whole site wouldn’t stop slobbering over Bakole as the greatest puncher ever and I knew he was overhyped. But you’re only as good as who you beat. And he’s beaten nobody of importance yet.
Doesn't make me feel smart,I just feel that at 20 years old and 13 pro fights there is no hurry with this young man . If he were to get blasted out in his next fight, those now matching him with all and sundry will drop him like a hot potato. It wasn't too long ago, Kovalev and Spence were talked about as possible ATG's.
It’s pretty clear that he isn’t a Bakole. Anyway, I don’t think historians will be scrutinizing our posts in years to come and he looks like someone who would make light work out of Norton so far. McKenna also was a decent test for him and he passed it.
Kovalev and Spence were good enough to be ATGs h2h, but their outside the ring lives did not match up with being an ATG. Spence also has the retina issues.
That is of course a matter of opinion. For me Crawford has some way to go to be classed an ATG,but we all have our own criteria.
If Itauma can destroy someone like Parker inside of a few rounds i will probably take Moses, just because Norton is chinny.
How are we supposed to know when Itauma hasn't fought a legitimate top contender yet? We need to see him actually be tested. Wait a while before stuff like this
Moses threads should be left out of the classic boxing forum until further notice. Comparing extremely young prospects to decades past fighters with full careers in the books, doesn't seem like what this forum was meant for.
