You forgot that Foreman had two chances, and the second reign consisted of ducking Tony Tucker and getting a gift over Schultz before every belt was rightfully taken from him.
He has a reign that includes beating Tyson and unifying against Moorer. Objectively, Foreman never had a reign like that.
But why the hate for old George? The same people who seem to big up say, Wlad, despite the ko losses seem to want to bring down Foreman despite only one blemish, a decision loss to a good fighter in Young, I can only speak for myself but I just don’t get it ?
You can be shot and on the way out as an undefeated fighter… Marciano was breaking down, Wilfredo Gomez wasn’t looking good before Sanchez watch his legs, Do you think Mayweather is as good as ever because he’s never lost? lol.
He didn’t exactly do bad though did he, at the end of the day he beat a solid Moorer who had just beaten Holyfield. He was a legit champ at 45, add his first career to his second and you have a top 5 heavyweight.
Gomez was like 25 when he lost to Sanchez, he won the featherweight title 3 years later! His legs were just fine… Frazier had just turned 29 for Foreman 1, he was bang prime or near as dammit. What nonsense
I had this pointed out to me by @greynotsoold and I agree with him, Gomez was displaying the symptoms of being a shot fighter. I think fighting the scales and being a party animal caught up to him. I am picking on Foreman but with Gomez I don’t see a reason you’d think I’m being dishonest? I don’t care about Gomez.
