Murat Georgievich Gassiev vs. Jeremiah Domonique Milton

August twenty-third at Miccosukee Indian Gaming Resort in Miami, FL. Ten rounds scheduled at heavyweight.

Each man has one pro loss at HW. Gassiev's was a SD against Otto Wallin in 2023 in Turkiye, and Milton's was versus a fellow unbeaten prospect Stanley "The Black Shogun" Wright on ProBox this past January.

Gassiev, a former IBF & WBA cruiserweight world champion, was supposed to face onetime heavyweight title challenger Andrzej Wawrzyk, but the Pole needed to be replaced on a week's notice. In steps Milton, who transitioned late into the sport after playing football in HS and college. He did alright in the amateurs, winning a trilogy over Luis Alvarado, then deciding to make his pro debut after losing an Olympic box-off to Richard Torres Jr. in 2020.

 

Milton was dropped in the 1st by Wright. Now granted Wright had 36 pounds on him, but still. I expect Gassiev to walk through him early (as he did all his opponents at HW before Wallin) or else he may need to pack it up

 

I'm going to miss it, as I'll be out tomorrow night with my cousin seeing Billy Idol & Joan Jett, but this card is supposed to air on the M&R Promotions social media pages (YouTube and Facebook), for those interested.

 

I actually saw her in a small club about twenty years ago (when her song "A.C./D.C." came out)

Now she's in her late sixties playing in a 20k venue. Funny how careers work - 2 decades past your prime you're on the fringe of relevance, but hang around for another 2 decades and you're making bank on retro nostalgia.
