Mayweather cannot be said to be Ali’s level, he never showed he is the best in any weight class, so blow him up to heavyweight and he’s not the best, if thats how some look at p4p then Ali destroys him

Depends on how you interpret it. Earnie Shavers packed a wallop but he's not in the same area code as Sugar Ray Robinson. If he packed that wallop at middleweight Earnie would murder Sugar Ray.

How do you realistically blow up an athlete? Think about it. That requires speculation on steroids. Is Michael Jordan Michael Jordan if he's 5'8". Is Tiger Woods Tiger Woods if he suffered from dwarfism?

Shavers wouldn't touch Sugar Ray even if he entered the ring with an M60.

Then why are there weight classes? Another question. Could Ray beat Max Baer?

I was assuming you meant if Shavers was at Ray's weight class.

The point I'm making is you take athletes as they are. You change one attribute you change them all. You can't magically take The Acorn and make him 160 pounds and give him the right hand that shook 200 + pounders. Oscar De La Hoya was Ring Magazine's pound for pound number one fighter in 1999. Lennox Lewis was the heavyweight champion in that time period. If they fought Lennox might literally kill him. A superheavyweight Oscar in no longer Oscar.

Suagr Ray Robinson shouldn't be on the same list as Earnie Shavers. They are different weights. Shavers wasn't a great fighter at all and Ray Robinson was a great welter/middle only. There's no reason to put them together on a comparison.

You'd have to starve him to oblivion to get him in Ray's weight class.

How good would I be if i was same speed as Usain Bolt?
How good would Danny DeVito be if he was same height as Michael Jordan? And could a 5 foot Michael Jordan act as well as Danny?

That's why the entire exercise requires speculation on steroids. Athletes are who they are. Oscar was the pfp #1 when Lennox was superheavyweight champ. If they fought it would have looked more one sided than Apollo Creed versus Ivan Drago with possibly the same result.

Those are entirely different things don't be dense. Or do you think that Anthony Joshua is a better boxer then Sugar Ray Robinson?

I prefer watching Robinson but Joshua would beat him and everyone SRR beat too.

Ray Robinson was one hundred times the talent Chuck Wepner was but Chuck would decapitate him.

Robinson was greater because Wepner wasn't great at all. But Robinson was only a great middle/welter. He doesn't belong on a list beside any heavyweight and no heavyweight belongs on a list beside him. Completely different weights. There's no sense in putting them together.
