Because he is a Youtuber and his first and foremost priority is making a buck without getting hurt.

It is an exhibition match. Probably amount to nothing more than a multi-million dollar, glorified spar.

I demand he fight a ranked contender that's his size not a 135 pounder and of reasonable age, not 60. Is that too much to ask??

Ibeabuchi vs Paul: We know Ike would totally ignore any non-aggression clauses that Paul's team would try to slide in the contract.

They wanted to fight Jake Paul. Joshua and Hearn were all in on it and that was a cash out fight, pure and simple.

With Paul taking that opportunity from under their noses, yes, Joshua and Hearn are likely to be now just be waiting to see if a soft way to a title presents itself.

But forget about injuries. Joshua has had 12 months out of the ring already and that is time enough to recover from any injury. Injury is just being used as an excuse to sit and wait things out.

I don’t think they were really going to fight Paul but it kept him in the spotlight and stopped the questions about possible opponents at bay for awhile, if that was the intention then I would say it worked to perfection.
I’m glad someone agreed with me on this because it’s just how it seems, not actually seen anyone else saying it, but looks pretty clear to me.
Tactical, he can’t really lose because he knows he’s as good as done, so what’s the harm in waiting it out see if he can get a shot at a vacant title.

Now that's thinking outside the square and you might even be on the money there.

I mean if Joshua wanted the fight then it was only ever a cash out, so why would he keep quiet about it, he would be stirring it up to try generate maximum interest. It was only Hearn taking on it and being pretty vague, but sure enough every interview was only asking about the Paul fight, genius move really.
I think he will play on the injury for a little while longer, then when Usyk Parker is confirmed, he’ll get himself a tune up fight (that he will be able to justify because of the layoff) he’ll get a soft win then wait until Usyk names his final fight, that likely won’t be a mandatory so belts will be available he will play for position to get a shot.
Hahah if it all plays out like that then feel free to bring it up on my behalf at any and every opportunity, because this some call haha

The Joshua-Paul fight was meant to be in November, so any ongoing mention of an 'injury' keeping Joshua out of the ring is complete and utter bull****. They are just waiting, looking for the easiest route to a belt to reveal itself.

Tank has opened up with the bookies as the betting favorite at $1.47 with Jake Paul paying $2.85

Exhibition fights shouldn't have betting markets, I think. It's like betting on WWE with pre-determined outcomes. Tank vs. Paul is a circus fight that nobody should watch, as it will give it more oxygen. I don't know who the bigger joke is between Paul and Tank; one has blatantly avoided a rematch against a fighter he was lucky to draw with, and the other is a cruiserweight journeyman trying to convince people that fighting a guy who is 5 foot 4 is a serious bout. Tank probably wins on points in an outcome that was already decided before the fight was announced.

Agreed about the betting. As for how the fight will play out I really don't know what to expect as Tank does not seem like a guy who would keep his cool is Jake accidently caught him a little too hard. The mistake Jake might be making is thinking that you can reason with a moron like Tank to play ball. That is what I am hoping for anyway an exhibition that gets out of hand and that one of them gets seriously hurt. Both guys are a joke and cowards in a different way.

I wish we could bring Floyd Patterson in a time machine from 1960 and have him fight Jake Paul

Just saw Jake's manager say fighting Tank is the best preparation for Jake to take on AJ.

I want to what reality fighting a 5'5", 140 lbs boxer prepares you to fight a 6'6, 245 lbs one.

AJ could go into the Paul fight severely injured and still destroy him in under a minute. Jake Paul was never serious about fighting AJ he is a coward.
