If Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko swapped eras, would AJ have done the same?

He beats most, but Haye, Peter, and Povetkin, could definitely win those matchups, and while I think AJ could too, realistically speaking its hard seeing AJ win all three without taking an L somewhere.

Actually, the peter from the first wlad fight, whch is the best peter to ever step in the ring, kinda seems like a nightmare for AJ.

The notion that someone as fragile as AJ would have been able to fight regularly over a 10 year period defending multiple belts and remain undefeated is a farce.

AJ got put on button moon by a fat Mexican in Ruiz Jr, who doesn’t have a single notable career win outside of beating AJ. He is so unprofessional that he turned up for the rematch unfit and barely threw a punch.

It’s truly a farcical attempt to delegitimise Wlad’s legacy.

I would say that AJ does have some of that. But in lesser quantities. He's like a Temu Wlad.

Povetkin was better when he fought Klitschko and the fight was a disgrace. Hard to watch and the referee did nothing.
When Joshua fought him, as far as I remember he had his mouth open in the first round. It was weird and I assume he had a cold or something, because he looked like it. And they fought in shitty cold wheather outside where I think you could see their breath in the air.
I was rooting for povetkin then, but Joshua didn't look healthy.

So I don't like povetkin as a measure stick for klitschko and Joshua. I would rather see Joshua fight povetkin 10 times then Klitschko once. That was a fraud fight.

On the whole Joshua could never have had the ten years Klitschko did. Emmanuel stewart would have helped him a lot, but I assume not enough. Boxing ability is just higher with klitschko and he is naturally more thinky and brilliant

    lmao.

You guys really acting like AJ would struggle with some of the bums on Wlad's resume? And why does AJ all of a sudden have to fight Vitali when his bro didn't. This is a like for like comparison, AJ taking on Wlad's opponents.

AJ would not lose to Wlad's Povetkin, or Haye.. or Ibragimov.. or Thompson. Lets be real here. Joseph Parker is a better win than basically all of Wlad's resume.

To keep a long evaluation short: no. Would have had the belt for prolonged periods, but his weaknesses would get the better of him. AJ is a step or two below prime Klitschko.

Well when you create a hypothetical thread there is a good chance people are going to disagree.

Povetkin a few days off 41, with a record of 1-1-1 in his last three fights, KO'd Whyte in the 5th with one punch after being dropped twice.

Whyte beat Parker over 12 rounds.

Haye dropped Chisora twice and stopped him in 5 rounds, who went on to arguably beat Whyte, Parker and Pulev (I thought he beat Whyte and Parker but not Pulev but he got the decision over Pulev).

Andy Ruiz never stopped anyone of any note barring Joshua. He lost to Parker, got a gift draw against Miller, scraped by a 43+ Ortiz over 12. Had a hard 12 rounder where he got dropped against Arreola. Had a very competitive 10 rounder with a 38 year old Liakhovich. A competitive 10 rounder with a 38 year old Kevin. Yet he dropped Joshua 4x and made him quit in 7.

If Ruiz could do it and Dubois did it with relative ease, Peter 1, Haye and a 33 year old (not 39 year old) Povetkin obviously could. You'd also have to give several others a reasonable chance.

Joshua's best win, by a clear margin, is 41 year old Wlad in an 11 round life and death. They're not on the same level.

I feel like Lamon Brewster would kill him.

The version Wlad faced the first fight would force AJ to use up a lot of energy to keep him at bay.

He’s really not supposed to on paper but Im like 80% sure Brewster would somehow end up KO’ing AJ

Joshua's career is nearly over so we can now look back on it holistically.

There's probably 4-5 people on Wlad's resume from Byrd II thru him being dethroned that beat Joshua outright. Hell, from Jameel Mccline thru him being dethroned TBH.
