Douglas wasn't a diamond in rough, Tyson always had problems with that style.

35 years and people are still coping with the fact that Tyson got his ass kicked.

The "late count" **** has been widely debunked. Like saying that is like saying the earth is flat just complete nonsense.

Well I expected an easy fight too because of who Buster was. Tyson was 37-0 with 33 ko's while Buster had been ko'ed by David Bey, Mike White , Tony Tucker and lost to Jesse Ferguson and had a draw with ,,gulp, Stephan Tangstad. I believe there's an element of truth to the threads premise that Tyson had trouble with that style especially from a 6'4 fighter and when a motivated Buster fought back I think it was around the 5th round I thought Tyson's confidence faded when he realized he was in a fight. As far as this notion that this was a terrible version of Tyson I don't buy it, he was 24 years old , his weight was fine, and he came out firing like he usually did and never showed fatigue , except when trying to pick up his mouth piece. ,,,,,P.S.-- I think a younger Holmes would have done the same thing to Mike,,because of styles.

    1. Tucker, Williams, Holmes, Tillis, Biggs, Thomas, Green, Tubbs, Spinks and Ribalta all had stuff in common with Douglas. Tucker was almost the same as Douglas, but proved he was better. Mike knew the style better than anyone on the planet.
    2. He didn't come out looking like his normal self. He came out looking like a good aggressive fighter, but not like Mike Tyson.
    3. Like I said before, he got away with half assing it against Williams, but not against Douglas.

If Tyson were a 10/10 for Spinks, he was like an 8/10 for Tubbs and Bruno, a 7/10 for Williams, a 6/10 for Douglas, and then a 7 or 8 for Ruddock. 7 tops post prison.

Others who excessively fan out on certain fighters will come up with different narratives.

Massive oversimplification, devoid of specifics we know were the case.

End of the 8th round. Huge uppercut from Tyson. Douglas only just made the count.

    They do exist

Yes, Buster won and was a God that night and good for him, he deserved it

Just stating the obvious, Tyson wasn’t training and was a train wreck without his handlers who passed away and essentially left him alone to be poached by losers

A motivated and trained Tyson beats Buster

Sounds like you are talking about a kid, not a grown ass man. Tyson got whooped by a sick guy on antibiotics, get over it. And like I said, if we want to go with "ifs" then Tillis beats Tyson in a 12 rounder and Tucker beats Tyson in a 15 rounder without a broken hand :p

When Tyson loses somebody, it's an excuse why he went downhill. When Buster loses somebody, it's the reason why he was motivated. What can't you understand, lol.

Douglas clearly was a very skilled fighter though.

I guess you would have to ask yourself what you think would happen if they had a rematch. (Assuming they both came in shape)

I don't necessarily think his style in particular was kryponite to Mike, he was kind of a poor man's Holmes.
