He didn't "win" the fight, he was getting his ass kicked and was down on cards but much to his luck Vitali's shoulder gave out. And lol at Vitali ducking the rematch, in fact lol at Vitali ducking ANYONE when the person you are defending is Riddick "belt to the can" Bowe.
I sense the classic forum is trying to make me uncomfortable today. Okay, let me make you guys uncomfortable. Here is a video of television's Mr. Belding singing Karaoke Mustang Sally with Hulk Hogan's daughter: This content is protected I hope you've all learnt your lesson.
Getting his ass kicked lol That must mean Vitali has embarrassingly soft cream puffs for fists.. If he can "kick is ass" and never once buzz , stun or even hurt him. Never mind coming close to getting a drop or even a ko. What a self own. Clown shoes like you will always self-defeat.
You can have your personal definition of what an ass-kicking is, soft hands or not, Vitali was winning the match, Byrd simply got lucky.
He landed only 8 less punches on the way better efficiency. He also landed more clean punches that snapped Vitali's head back. The fight was closer than the scorecards show. No luck about it. Byrd made Vitali swing the air, injure himself in the process and quit.
Vitali landed 33 more power punches, he was also the superior ring general, controlling the pace and place of the match pretty much all the time, Byrd couldn't do much beyond getting walked down, avoiding the big shots in the corners and fighting back with counters, he didn't make it easy but he was losing quite visibly. Vitali could have ruined his whole career if he kept going with a surgery-requiring shoulder injury, that's not quitting, that's not being stupid. Credits to Byrd for lasting long enough for injury-prone Vitali's body to give out.
He landed 33 more power punches but they weren't as high impact as Byrd counters. Chris won at least 3 rounds out of 9. Probably won 4. Vitali did quit, but my use of the word is descriptive, not judgemental. In my book there is nothing wrong with quitting if you know you can't win or may injure yourself. You live to fight another day. If quitting in Byrd's match is "not being stupid" then Vitali was stupid as hell wanting to continue against Lewis, where he could have lost his eye.
As I said, it was competitive but too many people are starting to act as if Byrd had a legitimate claim to win the match until the injury, he was 100% the losing side before the end. I don't consider pulling out due to a severe, possibly career-defining injury quitting. Tearing your shoulder off and getting a cut are different things.
Mismatch. All Klitschko. Bowe does not have the footspeed or legs to even get himself in position to land anything against this guy. Vitali was the rare breed of heavy that moved forwards, backwards, clockwise and counterclockwise. While letting his hands go. Bowe moved like a steinway and this was from a guy in his 20's. Can you imagine what more wear and tear do? Bowe fights on railroad tracks and really needs smaller fighters so they are in his range & he does not have to track a guy down. Plus that crappy Bowe defense that saw him hit a ton are not going to help 1 iota against an accurate guy like this throwing all punches from both hands.
Slow overweight Lewis plodded forward on Vitali with ease and tore him apart. Bowe finds Vitali whenever he lets his hands go Aren't you the guy who thinks Liston beats Bowe but looses to Rocky Marciano. Lol You pick based purely on who want to win.
Accurate lol Vitali misses 800 punches Vs Johnson because he was giving him some basic shoulder roll. Couldn't hit Chris Byrd who was standing against the ropes and wouldnt close him down because he has no skills in close. Got his head pezz dispenserd continuously by an exhausted out of shape Lewis. But you have to convince yourself that never happened in order or get the result you need. Hack.
Drivel. Herbie hide was running a marathon around the ring. Down like 10 times before getting knocked out. Larry Donald doing an Ali impression back tracked from one side of the ring to another all night . Lost every round. Ydksab. What's Vitali best win again? Oh yeah a faded overweight cement booted Sam Peter who Vitali held a huge size advantage over. And this in your mind is more impressive than beating undefeated prime all time great Holyfield
