Both can win. Ramirez showed he can be outboxed by a speedster when he lost to Camacho. But that power of his combined with Davis' suspect chin? This is truly a 50/50 proposition here! I did not cast a vote lol.

Davis decision. He may get in a spot of trouble but he'd get out of it.

Logic would go to Davis. Faster of foot and hand.

Ramirez can really punch, dropping Argüello (and I think deserved the decision, draw at worst), arguably deserving the decision in the 1st Rosario fight and then getting off the floor to stop Rosario (coming off a win over Davis) in 4 in a classic.

Rosario went on to beat Randall and take Camacho to a split decision, win the lightweight belt twice more and junior-welter crown too.

Yet Camacho dominated him, Mancini owned him.

Davis for all his talent always lost the big one. Let Jim Watt outjab for a relatively easy win in 1st title shot. The scorecards were close but I´ve seen the fight and Watt didn´t really struggle. Jim Watt never gets credit for this win, he should.

Next up was the Rosario fight and 2nd title fight, arguably Howard´s best performance and fight. Got up from an early knockdown to momentarilly stun Rosario and was bossing the last round when he was dropped again losing a split-decision.

Moved up in weight and was doing well but suffered 2 knockdowns against solid but not spectacular Joe Louis Manley to loss on points.

A draw with a young Meldrick Taylor looks good and he fought well against Camacho but lost again,Buddy McGirt (not a known puncher) stretched him out in a round in his 3rd title shot.

Davis was also down against Tony Baltazar, Norman Goins, Vilomar Fernandez and Luis Davila. He won all of those bouts.

A Davis win would not be a surprise but I think Ramirez would do something similar to his Terrence Alli fight (good fight by the way) and slowly grind away, hurting and probably flooring Davis for a close decision over 12 and maybe a stoppage in 14 in a longer bout.

Davis by decision. Ramirez had very real trouble with movers.

So long as Davis fights smart and doesn't get himself into any real trouble he should win this handily by points.

I think this fight would look a lot like Howard vs. Vilomar Fernandez with JLR in the stalker mode walking him down. At times, Davis would dazzle with quick combos and fancy footwork, but Ramirez would keep the pressure on and find his range.

Vilomar is himself a mover/boxer by temperament and disposition, but he still arguably beat Howard (and knocked him down even though Fernandez was never a puncher). JLR does naturally what Vilomar had to make himself do vs Howard.

I figure Jose knocks Howard down two or three times over the course of the fight and wins a decision by the margin provided from those 10-8 rounds.

I’ll narrowly go with Davis to take a decision but this is hardly a forgone conclusion
