The WBO would also be directly contradicting themselves after giving Bivol the 3rd degree over his back surgery. So it seems they have decided the path of least resistance and least ridicule is to just say nothing.

An undisputed world class champion won't lose a purse bid to an unpopular low skilled challenger, that's absurd.

Usyk will negotiate or drop the belt, there won't be a purse bid.

The WBO will CALL for purse bids

And Usyk will then have to vacate

Is this recent? Is this what they mean by non-visible injuries?

Just because he had an "easy" fight doesn't mean he didn't get injured. However Usyk said he wanted to take some time off after Dubois which I think may be what this is all about.

I can't believe this is still ongoing to be honest.

I think you and @mrbigshot are correct that the extension has likely been given behind closed doors as to save face (i.e., save from any media backlash) for both Team Usyk and themselves. I can only assume (A) Team Parker is on board with all this, or (B) Team Parker aren't, but no one wants to burn bridges with Turki by speaking on this publicly.

However, maybe a positive can be taken from this. If I was to bet, it looks more likely that we will get Usyk v Parker, just later than most would prefer (Kabayel included).

Parker vs Itauma is interesting. Whens the last time a fighter with such little experience got a shot at a heavyweight belt ?

We are coming up to the end of August, yet there have been no meaningful heavyweight fights announced for October, November and December (except for fights between journeymen).

If Usyk is going to fight Parker or not, by now he should let the world know.

And Warren should let us know what the plans are for Wardley, Itauma, Okolie, Chisora, Dubois, Yoka and the others.

Everyone is waiting to see what Usyk is doing before committing to a fight. No one wants to be stuck with a fight lined up if the titles are about to be dropped.

He already has, though. He has asked for an extension (because he is interested in the fight) and his manager says that Parker is next. This whole thing was explicitly, as stated by Usyk, about doing things in his own time.

I do believe that if Fury were coming back, that would be an obstacle. But he ain't, and Usyk knows that Parker is next. Ituama is just a smoke screen--no one really feels he's ready for it.

There isn't anyone else. Kabeyal is not even as much of a draw as Parker. Same for Okolie, even though he's British. Wardly would be next most viable, but no one believes that he would win, and his name is in nobody's mouth.

It's going to be Parker around March or April. Everyone just has to wait until Usyk is ready to start talking business, and that's it.
