Yeah, he has long been very jealous of him. Lost count of the amount of times I've seen him take shots at him

Sparring: Canelo had Boots Ennis, and Bud had Shakur Stevenson.

...am I alone in thinking neither is fantastic prep here?

Like, all due respect to Ennis and Stevenson, both are quite high level, but they aren't exactly close facsimiles of Crawford or Álvarez.

I think this deserves to be mentioned. If Crawford wins he will be just the sixth five divisional champion in history, behind: Hearns, Leonard, Oscar, Floyd and Manny. And he will be just the second three division undisputed champion. First being Henry Armstrong.

And joining that first list, he'll keep alive the current tradition of every 5-division champion having a welterweight championship in common.

Boots to emulate Crawford I can sort of see, but Shakur is baffling, I don’t see how that prepares Bud for Canelo at all

In a world where Floyd was 15 years younger and active, Shakur would be great prep for fighting Floyd. But Canelo? I don't see that.

I seriously can't believe how many people are picking Crawford to win. A lot of these same people were picking Spence to wreck him

Crawford should be sparring middleweights and super middleweights if he is serious about winning this fight. Hopefully this is just a smoke screen from Crawford otherwise this tells me he is just showing up for the pay day.

Lester Martinez has been in Crawford's camp. He is a good sparring partner for the fight. :chuck:

Granted regardless of Crawford that tradition will be broken once Inoue goes up to 126 next year.

Heck, even if the hater's dreams comes true and Nakatani KO's Inoue to retirement next May, then that will only change to Nakatani breaking the trend when he goes up to featherweight (he's got three right now, and defeat Inoue makes him undisputed/4 division at age 28 and there's no way he won't eventually go up to featherweight and win a belt).

...but what if Inoue then wins a welterweight world title? :D

I can see the fight being a disappointment because Netflix is involved, but I can't see past Canelo winning due to the significant size difference. Crawford's weight ceiling might have been at 154; he didn't look great against Madrimov. He's now going up two more weights. I think he's going to find out pretty quickly that weight classes exist for a reason.

    Interesting...

PBF has direct experience schooling Canelo for twelve straight rounds. :deal:

(and Bud is, FWIW, the same height, longer, and larger-framed)
