A bit random but it makes sense if Opetaia wants to move to heavyweight this could put him in place for a title shot pretty quickly.

Chisora isn't a bad opponent at all for Opetaia's first fight, and he still punches hard even aged as he is, a good welcome to the division. He is on a bit of a win streak as well with wins over two top 15 fighters back to back. And an old Chisora is still better than Usyk's first fight at heavyweight in Witherspoon.

I don't think Opetaia will be that small at heavyweight, he is around the same height as Chisora and walks around at ~220lbs and is pretty lean. Realistically Chisora easily has 20+lbs of extra fat compared to Opetaia.

I'm not sure if Opetaia will take the fight though, he seems pretty determined to unite cruiserweight, and heavyweight is the hardest weight jump in the sport.

Usyk was an amazing talent at cruiserweight. Who did he fight first at heavyweight?

As you seem to be struggling with the answer. So I'll help you out.

Usyk's first fight at heavyweight was Chazz Witherspoon. His second, was actually the man in question here, Derek Chisora.

One way or the other, all the belts other than Opetaia's own are being held hostage from him.

Its a irritating situation for Opetaia to be honest, although he isn't undisputed CW champion, he is still a belt-holder and is regarded as the best in the division.

What makes it worse is that the other champions clearly don't want to fight him, Zurdo should have fought Opetaia instead of Dorticos before getting a serious injury. Badou Jack is refusing to fight Opetaia and is waiting for Jake Paul somehow. Its a mess of a division ATM.

It probably makes sense for Opetaia to move up to HW with the state of the CW division to be honest, and Chisora would be a great first fight for him. I'd back Opetaia to beat Chisora at least, but its hard to tell in the sense whether Opetaia will steamroll him in a couple rounds, or it will be a long tough fight like Chisora V Usyk.

I would prefer if Opetaia stays at cruiserweight for just a bit longer. The Ramirez fight could still happen sometime next year.

Opetaia wins with ease, Chisora is shot and doesn't have the necessary power or skill to threaten Opetaia, who has above-average power himself, Opetaia by KO/TKO...

    Not Chisora.

and Usyk had 5 WSB fights at HW before his CW career. Don’t forget he’d already proven he could hang at HW.

have you see Chisora standing next to normal humans though? His shoulders span about twice the width of your average man his height. He’s a natural HW all the way, even if he’s a bit short for one.

He is going to waste his prime away, lose motivation, stop training and stagnate if he waits for too long trying to unify at Cruiserweight.
