Why does he look so old? Even after the povetkin ko he looked good in the rematch. Ok was poor against Fury. Was decent against Franklin a tough opponent after coming off a layoff. Awful against Tetteh but put to being out of shape at the time. I just don’t know how he regressed so badly in such a short space of time. He has aged physically as well. What happened to him ? PED use ?

I thought he was terrible from the fury fight onwards. Lack of discipline and lost his hunger. he went on a massive win streak and did it on grit and determination. It should have led to a wilder fight for the wbc belt but he was avoided and wbc never forced the fight either.

To be fair, Povetkin was absolutely terrible and shot to bits in both fights with Whyte with the literal exception of that left uppercut.

Whyte was always a British level fighter with the public sold a pup by Hearn along with his other greatest Heavyweight of all time.

Both were mediocre at best and nowhere near Hearn's sales pitch to the public.

Words such as great and elite only belong to Usyk in the post Klitschko era.

Despite doing well from Sky and the good period British boxing had, he was never any good. Life & death with Chisora, dropped and almost finished by Parker, dropped by Rivas, flattened by Povetkin, flattened by Fury etc. Throw in inactivity due to being a drug cheat and he’s been done a while.

Hearn’s greatest achievement as a promoter is convincing people Whyte (and also Chisora) were PPV headliners and anything more than British title-level.

Just this generation’s Skelton and Sprott.

Povetkin rematch was 4 1/2 years ago.
    He's 37.
    He was never great.

He's a big time Anabolic Steroids abuser. Once the gear is off, everything goes..

People also forget he went life and death with Mariusz Wach of all fighters in 2019 which told you all you needed to know about him.

100% mate. He was sold brilliantly by Hearn.
Although Whyte in his prime was a good fighter, he has been vastly overrated.
I saw someone on here putting Whyte as a top 10 P4P Heavy of all time once.....I mean for FFS!
Hearn in his prime could sell sand to the Sahara!

Then Hearn cut corners giving Joshua the Matchroom Premium Quick Sand in the build up to the Dubois fight.
