What if Joe Louis came back in 1956 and beat Tommy Jackson and got a shot at Floyd Patterson

Just like Holmes was KO'd by Mike Tyson and went on to defeat Ray Mercer and give Holyfield a good scrap. So let's say Joe Louis comes back from a Marciano stoppage and a few years later beats Tommy Jackson. He fights Floyd Patterson. How does it go?

    Not well at all!!
Floyd's fast hands do a number on the creaking Bomber, Joe doesn't see past the 4 th.

So he fights Patterson in 57 and gets the shot that Jackson got? He would of been 43 years old by this point. I would take Patterson let's be nice and say wide UD as he gives him too much respect. If Patterson doesn't care about over respecting Louis he's too young and fast for Louis and KOs him mid rounds if not earlier.

Louis was a shadow of himself. But a prime Louis destroys Patterson.

What if Louis ends up fighting Liston in 58 during his comeback?

I don't find the first premise very likely.

After the Marciano fight Louis was going to tank fast, even if he remained active.

His next loss would have been to somebody not worthy to shine Marciano's shoes.

Louis would of been knockout in 7 rounds imo. That is assuming he gets past Jackson (Which I don't see at that point) He already lost his hand speed vs Marciano, I think an even worse Louis would show up in 1957.

You saw what Ezzard Charles did to old Louis. Floyd would have quadrupled that damage against a really old Louis.
