I wouldn't have thought so myself.
He won't knock Wardley out, but then he doesn't have to.
He can bank round after round after round safe in the knowledge that Wardley has exactly one game plan and won't show him anything different.
Even if Wardley lands I don't see him as a bigger puncher than guys Parker has eaten shots from before and gone on to beat on the cards.

Wardley can carry that power for 12 rounds. He is better than middle aged Zhang. He is a reflexive fighter and his athleticism will throw Parker off. He also punches from odd angles and has an iron will. Parker has his hands full. Wardley would upset the apple cart

I'm surprised the IBF hasn't stripped Usyk of his title yet.

Wardley sucks and has no plan B. Parker knocks him out where Huni couldn't.

J-Park should be too skilled and experienced for Fabio on paper but we have to factor in his long history of struggling to keep afloat up at Brit Level

No disgrace there as everyone struggles up at Brit Level, even Brits

Lost to AJ, Big Joe Joyce, Whyte

    Should be 1-1 vs Chisora

    Arguably lost to Hughie

Couldn't put a dent in Massey who even buzzed him

He has never knocked out or stopped a Brit or certainly not as a pro he hasn't and Fabio has never been knocked down

That being said, I would still heavily favour him to win

Parker isn't knocking anyone out. Not a dog like Wardley. Parker thinks this is easy pickings because of the Huni fight, but Huni is more skilled than Parker and apart of the new generation. Wardley is going to showcase his top 5 talent to the world and knock Parker out. This era is coming to a close and Parkers time is up

Wardley COULD upset the applecart, but I wouldn't put my money on it. I mean Byrd RTD Vitali right? There's always a chance of an upset no matter the fighters involved, but I wouldn't bet on that result ever.

Yep he hits hard and carries power late, agreed.
But let's be honest here, Huni is his best win on paper (and probably in fact) and he struggled. Mightly. Wardley looked well out of his depth.
Yes he got to him late, but honestly he got his ass kicked from pillar to post in that fight and if Huni had any pop whatsoever Wardley would've been TKOd via corner or ref.

I actually really like Wardley, he's a top bloke and is doing amazing things with a modicum of talent, and that in only one area.
I just don't think he'll land often enough on Joe over 12 rounds and when he does he won't make big enough a dent.
Queue a British stoppage after one good shot though I guess hahaha

I saw an interview with Spencer, who helps put together Parker's fights, say that Parker is looking at fighting a Brit before the end of the year, he said it could be Wardley, Dubois or even Chisora, just one of the top level English fighters.

He said they are pretty deep into negotiations with one of them, and will give some news in the coming weeks. So Wardley does make sense from that perspective.

Parker is such a warrior, especially if he takes this fight, Wardley is probably one of the highest risk/lowest reward options he could take right now, he doesn't bring much to the table and isn't that skilled but has that power.

I still think Parker wins this match up, he has more pop than Huni and a better chin. It will take Wardley landing multiple heavy shots to get Parker out of there, something I don't see happening with Parker's current cagey style.

If that fight was in Australia, Huni may have actually been able to hold on to the final been and win it.

    Interesting.
Just to throw another angle in there Dubois and bricktop are talking up a fight they're trying to line up at the moment as well.

    Edit: found it -

If that fight was in Aus I reckon he'd have had a TKO finish tbh. He really couldn't miss Wardley.

Assuming this rumour is true, I'm trying to fathom the sense in Parker fighting Wardley.

Parker is of course the mandatory to Usyk's IBF belt. Is a Parker-Wardley fight confirmation that Usyk won't fight Parker and will instead bin the belt?

Wardley isn't rated by the IBF but interestingly, he has just been dropped from the WBA rankings. Perhaps that signals that Wardley is about to magically and conveniently appear in the IBF rankings?
