My bad it was an honest mistake. I must've been half asleep that day when I was researching the dates which to be fair I often am. The first camp would've obviously been the 3 months prior to fight 1 so therefore he fought 3 fights in 14 months and went through 3 training camps in 17 months. Three fights in 14 months is a lot for someone who ''only fights once a year,'' especially someone of his age

I wouldn't say Usyk's 12 week camps are quite normal. He trains like an absolute demon and he is known for doing so.

Wlad and Usyk are different fighters with different attributes, different careers and different circumstances. Wlad was a natural HW, a massive one at that, and he wasn't fighting guys who were much or way bigger than and he was also fighting the likes of Pianeta, Leapai, Mormeck, Wach, Jennings, Thompson in between his fights vs the top guys in his mid to late 30s.

Usyk didn't even win a belt up at HW until he was almost 35

We literally have numerous current fighters who have spoken on the record about how insane Usyk trains. We have several boxing media types like Adam Smith who have spent extended periods of time in camp with Usyk and say the same. I suppose they're all just lying? Never mind that Usyk is 38 and looks like he does in the ring. I doubt that happens because he's sitting on his ass and eating bon bons.

Serious question. Did Usyk steal your girl? Did you meet him at an event and he made fun of your fedora? Cause it's just silly at this point from you.

Okay, so by your new calculation, he had 3 x 12 week camps in 17 months. So that would mean, he was in camp for 36 weeks and had 37 weeks out of camp.

You sir … are very very funny. So what was the point of your statement then if not to cast doubt on how hard he trains?

No, by my ''new calculation'' after making an honest mistake Usyk has fought 3 times in 14 months which, again, is a lot for someone who ''only fights once a year,'' no?

It's a lot for any 37-38.5 y/o champion fighting the top guys in the division, like the #1 and #2 ranked guys who were fellow reigning champs, let alone one campaigning in a division vs opponents who are much or way bigger than him.

He fought 3 times in 14 months, spent at least 9 months of 17 months in camp doing gruelling training and despite what you say his training regimen is not quite normal he's super fit, as said, is known to train like a demon, and that is not only obvious from watching him train but also from watching him fight

'Derek Chisora revealed Oleksandr Usyk had an "outrageous" training regime, including a continuous six-hour swimming session, ahead of their fight in 2020.'

And, again, he's fighting much bigger guys and he has to train and work crazy hard just to help him bridge the gap campaigning in a division full of much bigger men and giants. And he has to eat like crazy too to keep the weight on

David Haye has spoken numerous times about how these hard camps sparring much bigger guys takes a lot out of you and how even the shots which land on your arms, shoulders, gloves do damage and take their toll on your body. That's just common sense though and I've heard other fighters and trainers say the same

Usyk is a couple of weeks away from becoming the 5th oldest HW champion of all time, the 2nd oldest unified one, and the oldest undisputed HW champ of all time and all those ranked above him were either giant 240-250lbs + HWs or natural HWs who filled out to those kind of weights as they aged, and 2 of them were one hit wonders (one was at that age but not when he was younger) who lost their belts in their 2nd defences and one should've lost it in their 1st defence to a Euro or fringe world level guy because it was a shameless robbery and the other fought a can in his 1st defence

In the last two years Usyk has fought 3 times, that is undeniable. From 31st of August 2023 to 31st of August 2025 he fought Fury twice and Dubois once for a total of three fights in two years.

He fought 3 times in 14 months at 37-38.5 y/o though. That's my point. Hence why he feels like he needs a break for both his mind and body

You're ignoring the time before the first of those three fights my friend.
But elsewhere you've included the part of that time that was his camp? Doesn't make a tonne of sense tbh

I think literally the only part I disagree with you on is whether he should have time off before he negotiates or after.
I say after, and that's because pretty much the whole division seems to be waiting to find out what's happening before locking in fights and that's not good for the sport.
You're being kinder to Usyk and want him to have his rest first.

Interestingly I see that Parker has entered camp in anticipation of a fight. Given he and his team are best places to know what is or isn't happening with Usyk UD say that's good evidence to back up my point.

But no biggie, we can disagree. After all it's just opinions at the end of the day - he'll do what he does.

It's astonishing how everything they are saying about Usyk is Marciano all over again. Just as they try to degrade all of Marciano's early competition when some of them were actually pretty good guys, we have to hear about how Usyk is not a great heavy because half his fights were at cruiser, even though some of those cruisers would beat most heavies. Just as the haters take a nothing fighter in Nino Valdez and try to make this guy the one Marciano was afraid of, so we are already seeing this with various guys like Kabeyal and Ituama. And here, just as the haters try to ignore that everyone who ever knew him talked about Marciano's insane work ethic, same thing with Usyk.
