Sean O’Grady would take such a horrific beating that he’d never become commentator material.

Two guys that threw a lot of punches and were not afraid to get hit.
O'Grady, as a lightweight with same day weigh ins, was probably 136, 138 in the ring; I believe he started his career at 118. Corrales was at least a welterweight for every fight as a lightweight, more likely a junior middle and very possibly a middleweight. Two guys going toe to toe, trading punches, and one weighs 136 and the other is 158, how will it go?
The net question should be "Who would win? Marvin Hagler or Andy Ganigan?"

Sean O Grady’s chin ends up failing him against a puncher like Corrales.

Let’s do it with a same-day weigh-in and no IV rehydration.

O’Grady beats up the shrunken husk of a man with his withering body attack and walks right through him, right?

Yeah but Floyd walked through him. All that weight cutting... is it really an advantage? Corrales had the chin strength of a toddler... a baby... Floyd was knocking him down with the littlest of blows seemingly anything that landed on that chin would have detonated it. What was it... 7 knockdowns??? He had no extra gear either.... no strength at all.... and he beats O'Grady in a war? Maybe weight bullies can "bully" better with extra size but.... there are some pretty extreme drawbacks as well surely?

Did you just compare Sean O'Grady to Floyd Mayweather?

Corrales beat every guy he fought at 130 and 135 except Floyd. He got stopped on a cut mouth in the first Casamayor fight and off memory had his corner throw in the towel against Floyd, which he protested.

O’Grady would be light work for him.

Chico's chin was like.... a oragami paper animal at 130 and Sean O'Grady would have been tapping it. I don't really know enough about O'Grady at 130 but I know enough about Chico's chin at 130 to know anybody that could touch it could completely crush it. Speaking of resumes he has a much better resume at 135 and seemingly a still not great but way stronger chin.

I rarely agree with NoNeck, but I'm with him here.

And for the above poster, everything about you screams casual. For one, because you dont know anything about O'Grady. For two, you probably don't realize this, but Corrales came into the Floyd fight with the reputation of having one of the best chins in the sport. It was Floyd's handspeed that he couldn't handle.

Corrales wasn't the one of these two guys who got smoked in 2 by Andy Ganigan and smoked in 3 by Verderosa.

I have never heard anyone ever say Corrales had a strong chin. Literally never. Someone please back up that claim that Corrrales had an iron chin. This guy had to kill himself to make 130. His chin was strong? Thats your claim?

I don’t think you know a thing about Chico tbh. I imagine this is some sort of extension of Floyd hate but I can’t keep track of all of you guys.
