The vast majority of fans (since you cited them earlier) would say that he is.

Turki can kiss my ass, your ass and every single boxing fan's ass. He doesn't own the sport.

    Parker should be next.

Hrgovic sure. But Kabayel? I don't know about that.

Almost everyone agrees that Parker is 1A, Kabayel 1B. Both of them head and shoulders above the rest of the field.

I think most view Kabayel and Parker as equally deserving more or less. Apart from Kiwis. I don't really think there's much of a disagreement here. Semantics aside.

He's had the better victories of late and is currently the WBO mandatory because he beat ranked fighters.

You could argue Kabayels style is more challenging. But who's he actually beat other than an older Zhang Parker already outboxed?

All 3 share the best win and Kabayel won the most convincingly. And by that logic Hrgovic beat the best Zhang of the 3.

Hrgovic was gifted that decision imo and looked awful in that fight. He also looked bang average against Adeleye. He's not ready for a title shot.

Parker, followed by Kabayel, are the most deserving challengers at this stage.

Parker like dubois earned the fight but I expect him to get dominated

Parker is no brainer, he beat many of the headline names convincingly. Dubois ducked him so there was a valid argument actually that he should have gotten the fight vs Usyk earlier but Usyk went for the more commercial fight. Thereafter Kabayel he has the 0 and gave a very strong performance vs (an arguably aging) Zhang, and his liver strategy is intriguing. I think Hrgovic is underrated and the TKO vs Dubois was unfortunate but he needs to have few more wins after the the Dubois loss.

This fight is not happening - at least in the near future

Usyk will vacate WBO in the next few weeks

And we will get Parker - Itauma

An MMA podcaster a while back made a point about this. I cant recall what boxer he was talking about, but he ended up bringing up Anderson Silva as a comparison. At Silva´s peak, most thought that he was untouchable and that every fight was a mismatch. There was no point to any of the fights because Silva beating them with ease was a forgone conclusion.
But if someone is so unbeatable, you actually want them to fight as many different guys as possible, to find that one gem who can push them beyond expectations, or maybe even beat them.

I think Usyk fighting the likes of Parker, Kabayel, Zhang, Wardley, Itauma is infinitely more interesting than him having rematches and trilogies with guys he already clearly beat.

Well parker won very closely (could have been a draw) against zhang and was knocked down multiple times. Low output and eeked out a close points win against an even lower output fighter. Basically used zhangs biggest weakness and survived long enough to do so.

Kabayel fought zhang not too long after. But he fought his strengths, not his weaknesses. Went on the front foot early and pressed zhang and ended the fight. Could deal with zhangs punch better than parker, didn't stay as much on the outside and had no trouble staying in the danger area.

The arguments that kabayel supposedly got the older zhang is pretty dishonest when you see that he fought him and had his success in the early rounds while parker just craftily waited for zhang to get weaker and drop in punch output. and still he met the canvas many times.

Hrgovic didn't win against zhang. That was a robbery.

I still feel that kabayel is at least equally deserving to parker. Wilder is absolutely shot to bits. Bakole was one day notice (not parkers fault).

The narrative that parker is supposedly much more deserving than kabayel to me seems to stem from him being in to top 10 for a very long time and great three wins and that he has bad luck with dubois pulling out and getting his shot.

But it's not an achievement to have dubois pulling out and him getting the shot. People might empathize with him but he could only have earned the shot by beating him - THAT would have made him the clear most deserving fighter.

As it stands I think kabayel did at least as much as parker (odds reflect this).

I don't really care that parker had greater fights in the years before. With that argument joshua can demand any Fight any time. With fighter fighting 3 times in two years, the last few fights have to decide where they stand and what fights they deserve. And as much as kabayels early chisora fight is meaningless, parker's earlier fights are, too. And the last three fights of kabayel stand up pretty ok against parker's. I'm fine with either getting the shot and it looks like it's rather going to be parker, but i think kabayel would be more interesting and i don't see a big difference in who is more deserving...
