Cortisone doesn’t make you ‘feel terrific’—it masks pain and reduces inflammation. It doesn’t restore a torn tendon, and it doesn’t give you more power, or speed. If anything, it let him step into the ring when he otherwise wouldn’t have. Calling that performance enhancement is flat-out wrong, and as a doctor you know better.

Again, you don’t know what you’re talking about. It makes you feel terrific if you get dosed before sports. That’s why it’s USADA banned.

I don’t need you to search Wikipedia for its entry.

LOL ! I've got to admit that's a good one ! No,what I mean is that once Sonny

USADA bans it today because it masks pain—not because it boosts power or endurance. There’s a big difference between hiding pain and actually performing better.

It’s literally a fight or flight hormone. You’re talking about a boxer who is about to fight. It isn’t a pain killer.

Cortisone is not a fight-or-flight hormone—it’s a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and can temporarily mask pain. It does not give you superhuman strength, speed, or endurance. Liston's torn tendon and bursitis didn't magically go away—his documented injury limited him. Claiming cortisone somehow made him ‘feel terrific’ enough to fight at 100% ignores both medical reality and the historical evidence.

It spikes when you wake up first thing in the morning. It spikes under stress. These things aren’t coincidental.

Speaking of doctors, doctors who experience burnout have issues with getting proper cortisol spike in the morning. I imagine a burned out fighter wouldn’t perform well and a shot of cortisone would help.

He's not a favourite over Liston. Maybe he is over George but George will seriously intimidate him pre fight.

Do you not like that I use cortisol and cortisone interchangeably? Or is it that you have nothing to add but somehow feel threatened?

You feel threatened for reasons that I don’t understand.

    Corticosteroids are feel good drugs.
