Kind of discouraging that it took Pruitt so long to get rid of a shot old midget, with a 7" height advantage. Particularly considering Pendarvis (who didn't even hit very hard at light welter) chose to stand brawl with him toe-to-toe.

He says he's training for a comeback fight in Germany, at 47 years old, having last fought in 2012. In his corner will be a pro boxer who's a client of his (Halliburton's a lawyer) and who promised to return the favor when Halliburton helped him with some legal trouble.

His client/coach? None other than Kevin "Kingpin" Johnson. He has secured Halliburton some kind of "title shot".

PLH also calls Evander Holyfield a mentor and close friend (guessing also maybe a client?)

 

Pendarvis is now 22-25-2, and has lost nine in a row. Maybe time for him to call it.

He did score a nice upset a couple of years ago, beating Bastie Samir who then was 20-0-1. But again, nine straight losses since.

 

Edwin Rolando Reyes vs. Shamarion Whitfield, 4 rounds @ super bantamweight

 

This is the pro debut for tall lanky Tennessee lad Shamarion "Slick" Whitfield.

Reyes, a 38 year old from Guatemala, is an 8-9-3 blown up flyweight and hasn't fought in eleven months.

 

Reyes is 5'4". Commentator says Whitfield is just a hair under six feet.

They introduced this as the main event...so I guess either they're saving Tanksley vs. Anthony II for a walkout bout, or that match was canceled.

 

One of the commentators, Mike Rodgers, humble-bragging that he has a beaten opponent in common with Booker.
