Twitch and balance. Marciano was bereft of either, Joe would smoke with it 100%.

KO4. A brutal, brutal match of athleticism versus the lack of it.

Moore and Charles may be better but at the time Rocky met them they were shopworn. Quarry and Ellis were both near the peak of their careers when Frazier fought them.(the first time).

Please buddy pudgy? Frazier trained like a demon. He was a legitimate 20 pounds heavier that alone if everything else is equal would make this one sided but you have Frazier is faster doesn’t cut like Rocky much longer reach and yes 1 inch (at least) taller.

Moore was on the best streak of his life. He continues to fight w success for years after. Charles was only 32. Not his prime but equivalent to when Lewis met Holyfield. He had one last hoorah in him. He was good enough to beat Satterfield the fight before something Baker, Nino, Cleveland Williams couldn’t do.

Frazier was not taller than Marciano, not that it makes any difference in this fight. Everyone was taller and heavier than Marciano, he still knocked them out.

Rocky never lost, while Frazier was manhandled by Foreman. On the other hand he didn't beat anyone close to as good as FOTC Ali. Frazier also beat the second tier comprehensively, whereas Rocky had very hard fights against past prime Walcott and Charles.

Still probably have Rocky higher. Who knows who would have won in a prime for prime fighht, but it for sure would have been epic.

A 1 inch reach advantage is also a disadvantage here. This fight will be fought on the inside at all times its less reach that has the upper hand

Everything you said is true. Except Frazier did struggle with some second tier guys. Rocky always struggled a bit till he hit home. His biggest weakness was his accuracy as he didn’t really care where he hit you.

Not in his prime. Frazier was a fairly newly turned pro for his first meet with Bonavena and had much less problems the second time. Rocky struggled with much worse opposition in his early pro years, but I didn't see that as very relevant either.

    Everyone entitled to their opinion

But I take Joe for this. Would be a hell of a fight though

    1. Qawi fought nothing like Marciano, he used the shoulder roll and bobbed weaved using more skill than Marciano or Frazier. Marciano got lit up by Charles and Walcott. He showed huge heart to come back from that and I respect him for that. But don't pretend his defensive is great.

    2. Layne, Valdes, Baker, Lastarza, Henry weren't very good though. I suppose it's only a 3 year period when he was champ, so there is that

Marciano was excellent defensively. His compubox numbers prove it. Film proves it. He rarely got hit with two consecutive shots. Tua also incorporates the lean but he was too fat to be as good as Marciano or Qawi.

some styles come and go. No one fights like Frazier or Tyson anymore either.

Layne, Nino, Baker, Henry and Lastarza were fine and decent contenders. Layne, Nino, Satterfield and Baker notched up a ton of solid wins. I give that generation credit as they fought a lot more ranked opponents then as compared to their later contemporaries. Praise is shined upon losers like Wilder who had less quality wins than all of them.

I wasn't aware that Compubox was around in the 1950's.

Compubox made a book…that’s those things with covers and pages in between, they contain words.
