If Hrgovic's cut is OK, Warren would like to have the Hrgovic vs. Itauma fight on December 13th.

    Exactly.

Hrgovic has a great jaw, mediocre power and a poor gas tank - it's the perfect step-up for a prospect heading for the top... If, indeed, that's what Itauma is!!

The only mark against it that I can see is it would set expectations for him to take on other genuine gatekeepers (and maybe even a contender) sooner than his team think he's ready for it...

Isn’t Hrgovic ranked no. 6? He’s basically a contender, when in shape he could be pretty damn formidable too.

i was hoping Itauma would be out quicker like on the Parker-Wardley undercard which looks likely to happen. He's only fought around 3 rounds this year.

His gas tank looked improved in the Adeleye fight

It's not the perfect step up, cause there's a good chance Itauma loses.

Hrgovic is almost definitely gonna take him a few rounds, and who knows what Itauma will be like stamina wise when he gets took deep, and chin wise because Hrgovic will land - he might not be a hard puncher but he punches hard enough to warrant respect.

Warren isn't gonna throw his special most treasured prospect in with Hrgovic just yet, that's way too risky.

Itauma has zero defense and we have no idea about his chin. Hrgovic should jump at the fight. He'll have to fight him eventually to get anywhere.

Hrgovic could definitely be tricky for Itauma, he has a laser guided right hand even if he doesn't put a lot of power behind it, and a solid chin and skills.

Whats Itauma's plan if he can't get Hrogiv out of there in a couple of rounds? We know Hrgovic can go 10 rounds taking bombs all night, is Itauma happy to do the same?

Also, although he went the distance with Adeleye and looked in trouble at one point, Hrgovic seems to have improved, especially his stamina after a camp at Big Bear, if he continues with his new coach and camp I can actually see him improving.

If the fight gets made, it's a potential blunder like...
    Jared Anderson vs Martin Bakole
    Joe Joyce vs Zhang
    David Price vs Tony Thompson

If Ituama is packing glass, we'll find out if he fights Hrgovic, because Hrgovic is going to land some rights. A lot of them. He always does.

Wilder vs Fury 1. Don't forget that one. A cherry pick gone horribly wrong.

He's ranked highly but mainly because the division is very thin on quality up top...

To be a viable contender you need a realistic path to victory against other contenders - Hrgovic is durable but doesn't have that on account of not having the gas tank to win on cards unless his opponent also has awful stamina, and doesn't have the punching power to walk through guys or even have the fringe contenders "punching chance".

He's pretty good at lots of things, but as an overall package he's just limited enough that he looks likely to be a perpetual also-ran.

Hrgovic ATM, is still a significant step up from Whyte. Its a very very tough fight, one of the things we'll learn from Itauma is how he'll deal with someone that can actually jab and one-two well on top of a established chin.

I don't think Hrgovic will beat Itauma but he has beaten hype jobs before.

Are we really done with Hrgo? The Adeleye fight was a bit questionable, but he did outbox him comfortably. His "defense" is truly peculiar, but his chin might just be ridiculous enough to upset Itauma. There was a moment somewhere in 8 or 9 where Hrgovic was out on his feet, ate 15 unanswered flush bombs and somehow recovered mid-volley. His gastank is a problem, but maybe it's enough to outwork Itauma in a 10-rounder.

I can really see how I am affected by recency bias, straight after Whyte fight I was all for Itauma jumping in there with Hrgovic, but now a few weeks on and I'm thinking its a big jump up.

Hrgovic is top 10 and is stringing some wins together to be a legit contender again, where as Itauma still has to beat someone in the top 30, I really don't rate that version of Whyte that could barely get in the ring.

Although part of me is sick of the Itauma hype so just want to see him sink or swim already so we can see what level he is actually at.
